Well this as brought out a range of opinion. It proves one thing to me and that is that homosexuals are the ones with homophobia and that is not suprising as they do have a condition to be phobic about.
Reminds of that classic statement/joke by either Dave King or Mike Reid in the 1970's "There seem to be more "homosexuals every year! How do they breed?

Whitehead called Reardon gay who clearly isn't gay. It wasn't intended as a malicious comment and was more a take out of his friend. Most people on here will have said the word gay in the context that Whitehead did.

Well, yes. Of course people can, and do, have many beliefs, some of them strange, or least difficult to understand. My own feeling that the Bulls are going to have a good 2012 is, perhaps, a good example, and certainly one I couldn't explain.

My confusion though is caused by the claim that he'd come to the conclusion "[ithat homosexuals are the ones with homophobia" [/ifrom reading a thread in which [ino-one[/i had actually said they were homosexual, and even at the level of my "good year for the Bulls" belief it's one which anyone will struggle to explain.

The the mistake Whitehead made is posting his comment on social media where it could potentially read by anyone. I expect the club will have made him aware of his responsibilities and to be a little more aware of how a bit of banter can suddenly become a big issue.

One thing is for certain, somebody is always offended by something nowadays so players have to be extra careful what they're posting on Twitter or FB.

See, I don't get why there's such a huge fuss over things that sound like other things.
