| Looking at Wakey, where every man and his mother and his gerbil seems to have an exemption, one suspects big Les would qualify for an exemption too?
On reflection, I could see benefits of a short-term deal here. Think we need an "unconnected" third party willing to pay big bucks for his image rights...come on Sir Ken, you know you want to!!!!

| Macca heavily hinted that any deal would have to be on the right terms for the Bulls. I am certain Lesley could earn plenty more money elsewhere, so it may come down to what his motivation is right now.
It is pretty clear we could do with another wing option and even past his best I am pretty sure Les could barge he way over for a fair few short range tries.

| Would be great to see the big fella back.....shot knees or not!
It would take the "buzz" up a notch or too, that's for sure!

| As I said before, if he can still do a job better than anyone we've got and isn't too expensive then fine.
However I do have doubts, he left us because he was unable to train with the team normally due to his knee troubles. I doubt they've been cured while he's been away.

| Are people forgetting he recently had a year out with cruiate liagament damage and only started playing for Glaws again in November!
There is no way Les should come back to the Bulls or another SL team as he would be even less the player than when he left. To much nostalgia and rose tints on here!

You mean the one that ran in 17 tries for us in his final season and it wasn't even finished yet?
I'd take that over Sheriffe.
Les would still be better than most wingers in SL.

We all would, point is thats not the les we'd be getting. He was not fit with dodgy knees when he left as an all time legend 3 years ago, do we think 3 more years, time spent in union training, a few injuries and a serious op have kept him at the same level? No.

I seriously doubt that. He could still be more effective than some in SL and at our club in certain aspects, like close range power plays etc, but could he play intensive rl sets for 80mins? Including dropping back to field kicks and not ending up a defensive liability? Im not too sure. (id love him to come back and prove me wrong mind)
I'd love the old Les back, but we have to be aware that is not the player we could be signing. Maybe we just need to change the way we use the bench and instead of an impact prop we utilise an impact winger for 15 min spells?

| How do you know what we'd be getting?
There was nothing wrong with Vainikolo when he left and there is nothing wrong with him now. Sure he had niggly knees, which RL player doesn't? It never stopped him racking up try after try right until he left us and it wouldnt stop him again.

| Also the Les you get is also going to be a bigger liability in defence than before, when he left he wasn't that good even in his hey day(yes he did put on some good hits but it wasn't a regular occurrence) He would probably make Dicky Ricky and Worrlord look defensively sound these days

We didn't get rid if he had wanted to stay the Club would have kept him on, but he got a very good offer from Glaws and the Bulls got some money for releasing him from his contract early, he went with every ones blessing fans included. So he wasn't got rid off at all. He is still very much a Bulls Icon whom most would love to see around the Club but not as a player again!

| Quote: Bully_Boxer "You would assume that he must not count on any quota otherwise we wouldn't be in a position to even consider him.'"
well he was playing in superleague before the new quota rules came in, in feb 2007 so he'd qualify to become fed trained on that count ( assuming it doesnt matter that hes since left league - that bits unclear in rules). cant remember if he was classed as a kolpak though or whether him qualifying to play for England RU would exempt him form quota.
Would be a decent impact player to have available but dont think we could rely on him to play 80 minutes every week and as others have said his defence would probably be a worry.

| No nostalgia or rose tinted spectacles here. Obviously I would expect the club to conduct a medical and check on his fitness in May but if he had passed that then I say take a gamble on him. I agree he probably won't be as good a player as the one that left, but it isn't as though we have 2 good wingers already!! Reardon will go well but I'd feel happier with Les and Rikki competing for the other spot.
As Macca stated the deal would have to be right, I presume by that he means we wouldn't be offering big money to bring him back. As I stated earlier I am sure he'd get bigger offers so it would depend on where Les wanted to spend his final couple of seasons.

| Id have him back, he's always had dodgy knee's but still managed between 20 and 30 tries a season. Les always said he would comeback to Bradford, hopefully he will.
