| Quote: Bull Mania "I think the fact we trained in the evenings is probably why it's so difficult. So if he's a young family, he's probably setting off just while they're finishing school, then getting home when they're in bed. Those years are precious and as much as we all demand loyalty, at the end of the day rugby should always come second. You don't get that time back.'"
He only signed a contract extension in June!! I'm fairly sure factors such as those were considered by him at the time. He clearly talked a good game but to walk away from a new deal with 3 years to run doesn't show him in a great light in my eyes.
Whoever comes in, let's be sure they're committed to stick around for a couple of seasons at least.
Chev Walker (Leeds ass)
Ian Watson (free agent or still in contract with Hudds?)
Danny Ward (Hull KR ass)
Rohan Smith (only just returned to Oz so seems unlikely)
Lee Radford (Northampton RU?)
Possibly may look overseas?

| Yeah fair point.
Walker would be a dreadful appointment. Nothing says to me he's a good coach.
Ward of Watson top of my list.

Agree with this. Expected commitment from the players that he didn't have himself.
Danny Ward would be great, but didn't he turn down a full time role at Cas, so not sure we'd be that attractive a proposition.

| Wonder whether having Nobe as 'consultant' will impact on who applies - I guess perhaps an experienced head coach might want more control.
Last two coaching appointments haven't lasted long so hopefully it is 3rd time lucky!!

| Think it's more complex than who we appoint shows the ambition of the board. I think they've shown plenty of ambition with the squad we're putting together.
I'll be honest I thought EOC was an exceptionally underwhelming appointment. But I liked what he did with the club and felt we were building.
For me an appointment that would get the fans excited would be an Ian Watson or Danny Ward.
A solid appointment would be a Rhys Lovegrove, Danny Mcguire (think that could work well with a Noble partnership)
Would be disappointed with a Simon Grix, Andrew Henderson etc
Might end up none of those names as was the case of EOC

Yep, we just need a coach who can keep us competitive, get the best part-time players that are available and keep the fans, sponsors and board happy.
Promotion now is in the hands of the Directors of the club or when IMG go to 14 teams.

| I think Henderson would be a decent appointment to be fair. Plenty of experience of the Championship and coaching generally - always seems to talk plenty of sense and I expect would do well with a strong Bulls squad.

He didn’t do anything with a York squad that ended up one place behind the Bulls with a new coach

Every coach has a period on their CV that is less than perfect, he has done well previously at London and last year with York. Assistant coach at Warrington for a number of years so plenty of experience at all levels in this country. We could do a lot worse in my view.
