| It'll be interesting to see how Smith goes on at Leeds. Massive job. A lot of deadwood to remove and I daresay a lot of vested interests in jobs behind the scenes too. On the coaching front I always thought he was handicapped by the off field issues with us in 2016. We played some great rugby - albeit against lesser opponents - but when it mattered at Fev that day he and team came well short.

| If Tony Smith becomes our next head coach I'll dance naked on top of the Touchdown Bar.

I withdraw my previous comment. He would be a terrible appointment.

You could see where he was taking us as a club and yes, whilst it ultimately came unstuck at Fev on that one game I think the years that would have followed would have been very exciting to be a Bulls fan.
Coaches teams to play with their heads up and instills confidence to back themselves when the time feels right. Won't always get it correct but i'd rather go into a game knowing we were going to throw everything at a team than just 5 drives and a kick.
I genuinely think he could be the catalyst for the Rhinos becoming a major force again.

And there was me thinking it couldn't get any bigger eyesore at Odsal...

That Rohan Smith Bulls side was certainly better than the current one.

| Buzzing for Rohan and I think he'll do well at Leeds. His man management while he was here was excellent and I can still remember the social media posts from our players while he was here, they were well up for it and loving their rugby playing for him.
I've said before that I think other factors were at play for that match at Fev, but that's by the by now anyway.
I'm torn now between wanting Leeds' poor form to continue but also wanting Rohan to do well!

| Yeah I think he'll go well. Yes the Fev game was a shocker and he prob learned a harsh lesson for his coaching experience, but SL won't have the variety of grounds/pitched the championship has.
As Nothus said, his man management was exceptional, regularly had one to one's with the entire squad, which I know many of them appreciated.

| I think if anyone dances naked on the roof of the touchdown bar, they'll quickly find themselves sprawled in the bar itself with splinters in all the wrong places. So on that basis I hope Tony is announced very soon.

| Joking aside, I've just seen a comment from TS saying: “I don’t know where I will end up but I want to stay coaching – and it doesn’t matter at any level, but it’s going to be hard to leave".
I'm not sure how much of a wedge JK is on and if it is anywhere near enough to interest TS.. but I'd hope to god we were at least asking the question.

| There is probably more chance of us turning over Featherstone this Monday than luring TS to us. Similar to when Brian Mac became available and we hoped he’d come to us.
It has to be worth an enquiry though. The worst he can do is laugh his way out of Odsal and over to his next club.
I think Rohan will do well at Leeds. He should have the resources to match his playing style there

Agree its unlikely, but we could certainly do with somebody of his talent to overhaul the entire operation and build some foundations. Knowing the Bulls they've probably already given JK a new 2 year deal and just hoping the 1st team can string 2 or 3 wins together so they can announce it!!

To be fair there's not exactly a huge amount of coaching positions available for him to choose. I can't see there being many coaching changes in SL.
Very surprised he's leaving KR. Seemed like Smith was enjoying RL again there.

He seems to have reignited KR in the last 18 months. He guided them to playoffs last season and a CC semi final this season and they appear to be on a good run at the moment. This announcement could derail their season massively.
He doesn’t strike me as the sort of coach to make an irrational knee jerk reaction. Things are clearly not right behind the scenes.

| Purely on the bits I’ve read, looks like a personality clash with somebody above and TS not having the final say on rugby matters. He definitely comes across as a strong character who isn’t afraid to back up his views with action.
