| They would have had a great season in C1 where we should have been
There WAS no pre-season, fact.
There WAS no coach till last week, fact.
The Championship isn't C1, but our scratch squad has been as erratic as you might expect. Had some key additions been found before Easter, things would have been different but the sequence of losses whilst it is all that matters for the endgame, doesn't tell the whole story.
This season won't be good to look back on, but if you watched us at Blackpool against the best team in the league, you wouldn't write them off as terminally crap, and before Easter the fact (to me) is we were playing the most enjoyable rugby a lot of the time, that I've watched since several years. Naive, inexperienced, and short of class and grunt, yes. Inherently crap and hopeless? Despite the run of losses, clearly not. We don't have any depth, but just as one " for instance", I'm certain with the class of Chisholm on the field we'd have won against Rochdale, and had he not done his knee, we'd have likely even beaten KR.

| Coulda woulda shoulda.
Fact is we're down and the owners will know it. Can they bankroll the club in this scenario? I would be worried but now I'm just resigned.

| I didn't go today but having seen Dewsbury and Fev it sounded like more of the same with one big factor influencing things that never should for a full-time team against part timers. Fitness. We've got some sketchy players who just don't have the ability, yes; we've got churn every week, yes; we're arguably playing naively against some cynical tactics (is staying down feigning injury now part of the Dewsbury mentality as it seems a consistent play?), yes. But what is consistent right now is that we're doing worse in the second half than the first even when we're ahead, and that's not good enough.
In mitigation, the advantage for full timers these days doesn't just come from being able to train more - it's more sports science driven - and maybe having Leigh Beattie, hard working but unqualified, running things has been a factor. We genuinely have missed a pre season in this respect.
But even so, this just isn't good enough right now.

Wasn't one of things mentioned in chalmers meeting that we had only just got a physio and had recently changed the conditioner?. Will take a while before we see any benefit on field.

Quite probably, and in all likelihood the results won't be seen til next year as the whole thing with pre-season is that you can run the guys into the ground in various situations over the week without the need to recover for matchday.
I'm genuinely part of the positive tendency (remember when the PT And NT on here used to be a thing?!!!) I never expected the season to end as anything other than us finishing bottom, and I do see the, potentially, bigger picture for rebuilding the club. But as a matchday fan first and foremost I still struggle not to get frustrated with our team being out-fitnessed by the likes of Rochdale, Dewsbury, etc.

Who dropped out in the warm up? I missed this.
I got a free ticket today at the last minute so went to the game. Wish I hadn't. Only player I recall not seeing from the named 17 was Mendeika, but I don't remember seeing someone who wasn't named as his replacement? Perhaps I'd lost interest by that point though and consigned myself to the bottom of a pint glass.

| At least we've made an improvement in one area - less spelling/grammatical errors on the bulls site write up.
But it could now be written the same for every game - just change the name of the opposition each week.
"Bulls started well and were the dominant side.........despite a phenomenal training session during the week the Bulls were unable to score a single point in the second half..........we'll have to wait another week to get up to zero points in the league table......"

Smoke and mirrors. We don't do anything other than train for RL and play against teams that have proper jobs as well as training.

Ah I see. It wasn't in the warm up, he dropped out before it. But the point remains at dropping out at short notice, yeah.
That being said, Chapelhow mentioned on Twitter about looking forward to the game something like 24 hours before, and he was supposedly the one that came in for Oledzki, so maybe it was more a case of hoping the opposition would prepare for a player that was never gonna be in the 17 at all. Maybe that's why they also accidentally named 6 loan / dual reg players in the 19 man squad, despite only being allowed to name 5 (then corrected it by saying Hodgson was there, not Chapelhow, only for Chapelhow to then play anyway).

| The afternoon turned on one moment. The fisticuffs. Straight after we dropped out (literally and metaphorically), and then missed a tackle (pointed the way to the line). He should have been lined up and smashed. The heads dropped and we never recovered. We were still 2 points up at the point.
The endless changes to the sides mean our attack is disjointed. It appears we cannot make a hole in a defensive line that has done back to back sets. Players are stood still and we have no push especially behind Pelts the one player who appears to make at least half breaks.
