Players don't have to be SL standard (or even top of Ch level) they just need to be better than you already have.

Or just of similar standard if you're looking at squad building as we are.

My point was regarding the type of half back we should be looking out for. We don't need another flashy pants half back who gives 1 good performance in every 6, we need someone who is going to release the back line we already have. The likes of Oakes, Ryan, Thomas, Caro (minus the cakes) can find their way to the line. They just need quality ball from a traditional half back, controlling the game.

I think we already have that. Keyes, Pryce and Lilley get the ball out reasonably well. Oakes and Ryan already have 13 tries between them. The problem in the champipnship is that some of these pitches are extremely narrow so it's damn hard to get the ball out. I'm not sure what you were watching but Chisholm had more than one good game in 6. I thought he was superb for us. Plenty of Bulldogs and KR fans think well of him. I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

The big issue is that we go back to what was said back down the thread; Leon's knees are going to need careful management and Lilley is on loan, and therefore liable to be called back after another couple of weeks. This is an ongoing problem, along with the lack of any depth in the forwards, and needs addressing soon if we're to entertain hopes of survival in this league.

Thinks Lilleys actually able to be recalled after Sheffield game. He came back for four weeks mid week before the cup game that he wasn't allowed to play in. AFAIK its a four week minimum loan, not that we get to play him in four games.

I don't see any reason to think that Leeds will recall Lilley

They've shifted Moon into the halves and won a few games, so I don't think they'll change that in the immediate future. Sutcliffe, who was getting a lot of criticism from the Leeds fans, is now benched. That pushes Lilley down to fourth choice half back (and that's before you consider that they can still use Burrow in that role if need be)

The evidence is that McDermott doesn't fancy Lilley - even to the extent of moving a centre into the halves rather than play him.

That's one solution, how I see it is that if they've moved Moon into the halves they're now one light in the outside backs ... Lilley to us in a straight swap deal for Mendeika or Macani would work well.

They can have both in a Newlove style deal..

Great player Lilley. Would look good With Chisholm at 6. Pryce won't be around next year don't think.
Hopefully get Lilley if he becomes available tough.
