| Sorry might have been a bit cack handed thats what dyslexia does for me, i just got the feeling from reading that that all this can be solved by the fans and it cant, most of us have given more than we are given credit for and are usually the last ones to either hear anything and the first to be in the firing line

| If we're not about to go into admin, then from his point of view it must be incredibly frustrating for every man and his dog to be spreading rumours about our impending doom.
If he's being truthful and next season's squad is already done and dusted, including those academy prospects, then I'll have no problem renewing. He also makes a fair point about the season ticket comparisons.

| Well he could've avoided a lot of upset and worry by having a statement pre prepared for defeat on Sunday. Then maybe these rumours would never have got started.
We've all been through a lot in the past 4 years. Defeat on Sunday was incredibly disappointing. There was no official comment. The media started speculating. It's easy for rumours to start.
Naive to expect otherwise.
However I'm pleased we're still alive and I'll be signing up for another season ticket.

| Why can't the club try and run another season ticket pledge drive like the 10k £60 deal.
We get around 4k fans to every game and there must be about 75% of those fans with season tickets as there was the quoted figure that we were only selling about 4k season tickets even during the glory days. So why not? I'm not advocating £60 tickets, but if we got 6k takers at say £150 ground entrance that's £900k. Over £200k more than 3k at £230. Plus you've got an extra 2k people in on match days. Surely that adds to Mr Green's desire to see more fans paying money in the ground?

| Reasonable statement, though a little more admittance that the club has got it badly wrong this year might have been in order. So it's not Steve Ferrrss fault that recruitment was so poor, it's the head coach who we refused to sack. Might as well blame the bloke who's no longer with us I guess!
I still think he has a tough job selling memberships at current prices levels though after the season we've just witnessed.

Hindsight is 20/20 and I honestly think that Green believed we would beat Featherstone. After all, where was Halifax statement about failing to make the Top 4? Where was Sheffield's?
However, it seems that the club needs to be a bit more on its guard as it seems for any sort of set back the knives will be out.

Early bird was scrapped when Green took over the club. There's no incentive for fans to buy early any more other than if they want to pay extra to pay in installments

| IIRC he had one ready to go after the MPG game. Fair enough it was the definitive end of the season. But so, to also be fair, was Sunday,

The danger is you don't hit the target and then you've undersold the tickets you do sell and you have a shortfall.
It's a very passionate statement from Green and perhaps he deserves one last shot next season and for us to lend our support but we absolutely have to believe that the players are going to bust a gut EVERY game. He hasn't addressed the underachievement that we have witnessed and that's where most people's frustrations lie.
He wants the club to succeed, we want the club to succeed but really the only people who can make that happen are those who take to the field.

The solution is in the problem. We need to get the message board team back together.

Beer is the root of all my problems, ironically it solves them too Homer
Simpson that is: |
|
| The witch-hunt against Ferris particularly from some of the T&A forum muppets was just grounded in dislike of the guy and the club, not substance. Nobody other than those involved knows exactly who signed who.
But in the end what is not in doubt is that many signings have not worked out and hopefully lessons have been learned. A huge clear out is needed. Without any substance other than rumour I was told a certain prop forward was on £90000 a year for 15 mins work every once in a while! if some our players are or were on that amount then it should be relatively easy to save some money by getting rid if they are out of contract.
I agree with Green it is up to the supporters to keep the club afloat and hope the club can be more prudent with our money.
On a footnote does any body seriously believe Batleys wage bill is £150000 a year!!! This is a club who when announcing attendance figure against us last year brought howls of laughter from the crowd.

| Certainly a strong statement and puts part time rumours to bed hopefully. Would have been nice if he'd clarified how, if at all, liquidation of safeguard could affect club but guess that's his personal business ateotd. If club is being run as a business then only major issue could be his ability to temporarily provide finances in event of cashflow issues.
Looking at players leaving, departures should pretty much cover shortfall in central funding as its mainly players you would expect to be bigger earners, plus quite a few who've been taking a wage and barely playing. Down to Rohan now, to identify better value options and bring through the youth.

| Positive statement from Green, and I absolutely agree with his comment on the junior intake at all levels at the moment, we have got that very right at the moment.
I get his frustration given he made an earlier statement about staying full time next year and that our squad was just about complete for next year. BUT..... Look at where the rumors really gained credence, in the media! Within an hour of Sunday's game ending, Phil Caplin on Radio Leeds was talking about hard decisions needing to be taken and that players may have to be unloaded next season if not before, a view supported enthusiastically by the T&A & the YP this morning. This helped feed the on line frenzy that seems to have so frustrated Green. It's clear from the T&A articles that there isn't a good relationship with him, and I guess the rest of the press. That is something that is in Green's power to put right, nothing to do with supporters, but helps feed supporters less than positive attitudes. The way the club communicate on injured players sort of bears this out as well, no word on why players are missing, what the problem is etc. I get not wanting to show all your cards to competitors, but when were we informed that Gaskell would be out approx. x weeks, 2 or 3 weeks ago.
All this would be irrelevant if we saw the team fighting as a team, even in defeat, but too often we see little fight, hence Green should understand why people question paying top dollar for ragtag performances. Address the communication issues, keep a future vision with the development of juniors and get a group of players fighting 80 minutes each week for each other (not just against Leigh) and I have little doubt the majority of supporters would continue to shell out cash to support our club, if they have something to feel proud of!
