| Allowed their forwards too many easy yards most of game. Only showed any urgency in tackle in last quarter. But will take the 2 scrappy points. Be as hard next week too

| Sounds like Cobb did his best to keep us out of top 4. Greta signing for Leigh.

| Quote: roofaldo2 "Well, Batley's players are playing at the limit of their capabilities and are in fine form as reflected in their current standing in the table.
Bradford's players are not playing near the level they are capable of on a consistent basis, yet find ourselves just a point behind Batley in the table.
Lack of leadership and direction on the field, coupled with poor game and man management off it are why Bradford are currently slugging it out for 3rd place rather than contesting a top 2 spot.'"
And I think today's performance and result backs up my point nicely. Batley were probably the better team everywhere but on the scoreboard.
That being said though, a number of last minute withdrawals are always going to mess up the best game plan.

Nah, to be fair to Cobb he had the perfect opportunity right at the death to truly screw us over and give a penalty to Batley. But he kept his integrity and gave the knock on, so fair play to him for that.
With so many players out and barely any creative players in the side, it was always going to be a struggle today. The conditions also meant that any advantage we may have had in the backs was all but nullified, and losing Clark in the first 15 meant we had to do it tough.
With a little help from secret agent Ulugia having a nightmare second half, and whichever Batley player it was who dropped that grubber in his own in goal area, we managed to steal a win there.
It was as ugly as they come but I don't care.
Also, special mention for Kieren Moss who I thought was excellent today. His positional play is first class and he was a fingernail away from making a clean break. It would have been interesting to see if he had the legs to go the length of the field. Looking forward to see him on a firm dry pitch.

| Happy to get the win. Number of players missing. 3rd game in 7 days against a good championship team full of confidence. We weren't at our best but a wins a win. Thought Olbison had yet another shocker as did O'brien and Williams. Losing Clark was a big blow. Charnock looks a super signing. Moss certainly looks to have some potential.
Another win ticked off. That would have been a game we would have lost a few months ago. Hopefully we should start getting players back and start having a settled side.
Thought Haggerty was best player on field today.

Post of the year.......not a single Batley player would get in the Bradford team? And you think its me taking substances.......

I agree with this. 3 games in a week was always going to be a massive test but to get a win against a team who have won 5 on the spin is a huge achievement. Well done to Rohan and the boys! At full time it looked like it really meant a lot to the players too. Great to see that sort of elation from the players after a hard fought win.
For spells in the second half we needed a bit more patience when in the Batley 20. O'Brien made some poor choices which isn't like him. He and Charnock were having words throughout the game. Hopefully we can get everybody on the same page.
Another test next week against the Blue Sox.

| Massively important win after a tough week with late withdrawals to boot. Showed real
Composure to come up with points. Hopefully a few bodies back for an equally important game next week.

| As has been said a good 2 points earned without being spectacular. Trying too hard at times consequently balls going to ground, but with at least 5 players absent who you would consider starting players it's a good win. Moss was excellent, on a couple of their breaks he was the last line of defence and nailed the ball carrier. My man of the match was Clough, how hard and direct does he run for a man who some might say is a little lacking in stature.

| I agree that's one we'd have lost a couple of months ago. But the one priority Smith has is to win by any means necessary, and the team - however badly they play - have clearly bought into that. In fact, watching the 2nd half, I found myself pretty confident that we would find a way to win. It was a strange experience.
Not much point in analysing the performance, given the circumstances and the disruption, I'll just very much settle for the 3 wins in a week.

| John Kear appears to be seething with Joe Cobb in the post-match press conference which has just been uploaded to Bulls TV. He thinks that the Pitts try was grounded in goal and shouldn't have been given. From my position it looked like the Batley man simply spilt the ball as he was going to ground.

Mick Gledhill has since confirmed on Twitter that the ball was grounded, after looking repeatedly at replays. So a slice of luck for us there by the sounds of it but these things even out over the season. We only have to go back to our last game against Batley where there were several dubious decisions that directly affected the result.
It sounds like Cobb is up to his usual tricks - how this man is an official is beyond me. I have before hypothesized that he was only fast tracked to Super League because he came through the RFL's cadets system, and in order for them to call the scheme a success they would have to have a young official in charge of a Super League game within X amount of years. Of course, I have no evidence of this, but the RFL can't seriously think he is competent, which begs the question is there another reason why he rose to Super League so quickly.
