I really don't think we were as bad as the score suggests. And the be honest on that form I don't think Wigan will win anything. Excellent defence indeed, but one attacking move tonight. Very emotional at the end to watch the Beav take the kick and then the players make the tunnel for him. What a privilage to have seen that man in a Bulls shirt.'"
I thought we were very poor tonight tbh. Attacking-wise at least, but our defence was very good (until the last 15).
Child killed us, i'd love to see the penalty count overall coz it must be 2:1 in your favour. The amount of times you got piggy backed down the field was unreal!
You could tell Bradford didn't have anything to play for though, kinda the only way I can describe it. Wouldn't say you were awful, but you didn't play well either. Just ok from both sides really.

I can assure you that both sides got that particular benefit.
The best call from Child I thought was when Kearney slipped, fell on his @rse and had a penalty given against him for obstruction/crossing. Wigan then went up the field off that, scored from a quite blatant obstruction at the other end, which he completely ignored.
It certainly wasn't one sided from him, he was just bloody awful all over the place. He didn't kill anyone, except the game.

| Oh, and how many times do a team have to be warned before a player goes in the bin?
Joel Tomkins was pulled by the referee for a chat 3 times (I assume Tomkins was captain for the night). What did he say the third time? "I know I've warned you twice already that I might put someone in the bin, but instead I think I'll just warn you again. Can you please stop?"

Yep that was a pretty good one. There were several pretty good ones though to be fair...

Yeah, total joke.
I thought it was 1 warning and then a card. Not in Child's world though obviously.

| Not necessarily no..after a few pens you can pull captain over and say ur the captain sort it out there doing x, y and z..they do it again he pulls captain over and says this is ur last warning now if you dont sort it out i will..another penalty bin for persistent team offending...depending on how long its been since you warned him..if you warned captain on 20 mins but they then conceded a penalty on 38 mins bit harsh to bin them after a 20 min gap of no pens.

It was unbelievable and something that really annoyed me even as a Wigan fan. He pulled him over for a chat 3 times in the space of about 10 minutes which meant the game kept being held up. It got to the point where I was praying he's just bin someone and said if i'd been Joel Tomkins i'd have just told him to bin me because I couldnt be ar*ed keep walking over time and again.
Child was totally put of his depth last night. He looked like a guy trying to earn himself a play off game by making himself the centre of attention when infact he just killed the game.

| Who were the guys doing the Radio Leeds broadcast?
One was Jamie Bloem, I think.
Who were the other two?

He's just a shocking referee, and all it does is frustrates both sets of fans (and th players no doubt)
If he's going to call the captain 3 times, surely someone deserves to be in the bin.
He missed offsides for both sides, and he missed a few obstructions from Wigan aswell.
Also, Tomkins needs to cut out that arm trapping trick of his. We don't want it to turn into football and he's done it several times this season. If players are doing that it should be a penalty against the attacking side.

Most refs would have seen through that and given a penalty against. But it was Child.

| I think you all sum it up rather nice about Mr Child last night.
As soon as I saw his appointemnt for this fixture my mind went back to the Catalans home game and that 31 penalty game.
Last night it was more of the same although I'm quite shocked to say we won the penalty count by 4
Nothing will change till the RFL get rid of Cummings.

Agree and if Russell Smith could see it at Odsal in 1996 vs Wigan, then I'm pretty sure James Child could have seen it last night.
