| I can honestly say that I would rather see a side including Addy, Halley, Southernwood, Wardle, Crossley, Finigan, Kopczak, Whitehead, Donaldson play there heart out and feel the pride of putting on the famous red, amber and black then some of the current players.
I could not agree more. The big names seem to have given up! Let the youngsters have a go they will all play with pride and they want to impress, a bit of competition places will make everyone work harder. Lets face it what is the worsdt that can happen?

| Funny thing is that I've now had chance to get over yesterday and I'm, now looking forward to Salford.
Which really is a must win game.

Glad to see you've rediscovered your sense of perspective.
It's only a game.

Mate, if the board seriously took much notice of all the negativity, hopelessly misplaced optimism, and blue crayon jobs posted by some on here they would have topped themselves by now. Btw, the money has gone and is no longer coming in, that's part of the problem.

So THAT's it! Brilliant! Hood & Co are simply creaming off the untold millions that endlessly pour into the Odsal coffers, and as long as they can defraud the club and line their own pockets, they don't care!!
Superb. Dumbass Of The Year 2010 is yours, Sir!

And it will be more of a problem if the players don`t start pulling thier fingers out, less and less are not going to be putting there hands in there pockets week in week out to watch that rubbish.
Even Friday the amount of Bulls Fans was very low (ie friday game, travel etc maybe a small part of that) but quite a few did made the effort to go down. even after that game it took the players a lifetime to come and thank us.
I thought there attitude was disgusting, and the lot of them should be dropped in to the academy and let the young kids come in, at least some of them will have a go and give 110% more than the shower we have now. And Paul Sykes 3 years contract wants ripping up he`s absolute C***. Rant OVER.................

I thought the attendance from Bradford was pretty good for a Friday fixture in London, remember they normally play on Saturday. It's not everybody who can take the day (or even half) off to go swanning around to watch a rugby match, and if you haven't got a job you probably couldn't afford to go anyway, so it's a bit catch 22 to be honest.
I though the players looked a bit embarrassed after the game. You say it took them an age to come over, to be fair I don't think they really did come over, maybe ten or fifteen metres over the halfway line, maybe they were shocked that we stood and applauded after that display, or maybe they thought we were applauding just to trick them over and then were going to shout abuse or something!
The team looked totally dispirited to be honest, and much as we've all (rightly) complained about the lack of discipline and moaning at he ref, at the very least (yeah, I'm clutching at straws now!) it shows they cared. In any case, I don't want to knock too much because when a team is down that is when they need support and not people having a pop, not only that but I believe they really did put the effort in and that's crucial, it's like they ran in hard but believed they were going to lose the ball, which only made them lose it, if that makes sense. I think this lack of belief is McNamara's big job with the team right now, if he has the ability to turn it round and instil some confidence it needs to be used.

| I'm surprised any supporters stopped to clap the players off in all honesty. It would appear our effort and enthusiasm levels were a fair bit lower than the Quins. I've never booed my side off the pitch but I've never understood those who still clap the side off after an appalling display.
And I've clapped the players off plenty of times in defeat but only when I feel they've put the effort in to warrant it.

For my money there [iwas[/i effort going in from the team. The problem appears to be confidence, or lack of it, not shortage effort, and as I said above they 'cared' almost too much, so much so, that they got far too involved with the referee and didn't concentrate on the game.
I applauded because I appreciated the effort and also to show my support for the team when they are struggling. Poor as they were, and I'm sure they know far better than me just how bad they were, it was a way of showing solidarity with the players. At the end of the day I want them to play better next week and I'm not sure that just turning our backs and walking away would do anything for their confidence.

Was there some energy in the performance though? Were they racing to form the scrum? Chasing after every kick to try and force an error? Did they put in some shuddering hits? Did we force some goal line drop outs? Did we force the Quins into touch with some tough tackling?
It didn't sound like it on the radio and it wasn't the impression I got from people I know who went. I don't really see whinging at the referee as a sign of effort to be honest.

Well, I said I was clutching at straws!! Though, I also said that (misguided as it was) it was sign they cared rather than of the effort.
The overall demeanour is of a side that is mentally at a low ebb, much as it is being denied yet again in the T&A. Not that I'm in any way a sports psychologist, so maybe convincing the players that they're NOT down is part of the cure? Anyway, did they chase kicks? Yes, did they tackle hard? well, they went in hard but often either missed or dropped off far too easily, to be honest. I do remember Menzies, Lynch, Addy and believe it or not Worrincy putting in some pretty hefty shoulders though.
I seem to remember the odd drop out, though putting someone into touch is something I don't remember, nor would I say there was any particularly ostentatious rush to form scrums, but neither were they holding back and they certainly caused the clock to be stopped quite a few times.
I do remember incidents like Dave Halley racing downfield across to the other wing to tackle Dorn after he picked up Sykes' kick, though he was unable to prevent his off-load. There was Rikki Sheriffe taking the ball up as hard as you like, Langers who put himself about until he went off, Elliott Whitehead certainly did his share of work, as did Godwin, Addy, Lynch and L'Estrange. I think Craig Kopczak had his best game for ages.
At the end of the day it is about perception, and whilst others are free to disagree, for me they played poorly but did put the grunt in, ineffective as it was. Worth applauding off? Well again, as always, it's a personal decision and I took the view that a bit of empathy might have a better effect than 'dissing' them when they were clearly 'down', others took the same view as me and then others didn't. C'est la vie.

| Our problem seems to me to be that we aren't really playing as a team. Individuals are giving 100% but there seems to be a lack of cohesion and that leads to errors in attack and defence. Then the confidence in yourself and teammates dries up. Add a few dodgy calls and players get away from what they should be concentrating on and start blaming the ref for their shortcomings.
In my limited playing experience when you're trying your hardest and things aren't coming off the odd harsh ref's call can really get everyone on a negative vibe. I've often stood at halftime with teammates who just want to go on about this wrong decision or that but it won't change anything. The team needs to concentrate on what they can control not what they can't.
The responsibility for sorting out the current malaise lies primarily with the coach and the senior players. They set the lead.

For the first time EVER in my adult life I left five minutes earlier, just after the Crossley try.

Seems a fair summing up Bullseye. Maybe having Lee St Hilaire in charge will allow the team to draw a line under the past and start afresh. Obviously the injury situation remains the same but mentally, it just might be the catalyst to spark a revival. I think we can all join together in rallying around that.
