Friday night....BOO

seems a strange decision to play it on a friday. Surely will mean a lower gate than a sunday game. The cynical side of me wonders if, given that we have to split gate with leigh after costs we might end up keeping entire gate as stewarding costs could eat up entire gate if crowd is less than 8K. And even more cynically do we have to share money earned through the corporate boxes, which are well know to earn more money on a friday night

Possibly also due to fact we have to go to Wakefield the Friday after?

hadnt noticed that, have to admit I assumed that as we're away to crusaders at edinburgh the week before that the week after cup game would be a home game. Guess we're being classed as the home team at murrayfield.

They certainly seem to be offering up the hospitality to the GPublic a great deal.

Looks like the downturn in attendances has hit there too.

Think the decision of a Friday game will certainly lower the away fans, I was hoping we would bring a big following but not now, I certainly can't make it

We're at home to Widnes on the following Thursday as well so that might have played a part.

Friday night will decimate our away support, but would still expect a few hundred away fans.

Doesn't matter when they play it, it is always going to be a very modest crowd. Paying Cup games just are, only the semi finals get anything like. Agreed it will be a bit worse on Fri than it would have been on Sun but as said with games on Thu (Leigh) and Fri (us) it would make no sense to force such a rapid turnaround.

the crowd would never have been massive but we do have quite a good away follwoing for a championship side! sunday for ourselves would have seen upto a 1000 maybe more come down .....but never mind , i'll still be there

hopefully it hammers down all friday ! so the game is slowed down. that way we should give you half a decent game

It's been like that for a few years now though. Funnily enough, just before reading your post, I had been wondering if the 'free' tickets given to season pass holders made any difference to attendances in the last round? I've not seen it mentioned anywhere.
