| decent enough signing imo. gives us some options and wont be on much money with a lot of motivation to get a longer contract.
hopefully this is in addition to the 1 forward/1 back mentioned by macca last week. We still have a quota spot available and presumably plenty of cap space available. A decent and an impact prop with the promotion of a few academy lads and we're looking in decent shape imo.
good to see the usual muppets on the T&A forum are having a field day with their doom and gloom

| Quote: Bullseye "A lot depends on his atttitude. If he's put his recent troubles behind him and knuckles down then fine. Giving him a one year deal sounds as if he's been given an incentive to perform. Just hope he doesn't take his bat home like he did the last time he was here.
However, we're still lacking some proper quality in the backs and are lacking a game breaker or two. We've rather too many steady-eddies or below average performers to really worry the top 8 on a consistent basis.'"
I hope that was deliberate - if it was it's the subtlest joke I've seen in a long while.

A fresh start for him. Brought back from the RL wilderness and back where it all started out for. He must be glad of the opportunity to reignite his career and Im sure he will be up for it. Win win signing IMO.
'"
Thats my take too, its a no lose gamble really;
rlReardon back at the bullsrl
[i"I'm really looking forward to joining Bradford," said Reardon. "It's my home-town club and I'd like to thank them for giving me the opportunity to resume my career."[/i
...And Stuart's apparently.

| What happened to the talk of a month back along the lines of his return would be on a month to month basis - anyone heard anything about it?
Couldn't blame the club for being cautious but I suppose they wouldn't admit to that finer point.

IMO that type of contract will be a real rarity.
A player needs some security in his contract too. Being dumped mid season, would leave him unlikely to find another club.
I think a 1 year deal is the right call for both parties.

| Poor signing, really highlights our lack of ambition. So depressing to be a Bulls fan at the moment. Losing the likes of Sam Burgess and brining in mediocre replacements. Another rubbish season coming up. I doubt Steve M can do anything about it either, he doesnt have a clue most of the time.
As you can see. Im finding it difficult to be even a bit optimistic. Might just hit the bottle.

Whilst i agree with your post, i think given how many players have left a signing like this needed to be done. Cheap, British and not exactly a bad player. I doubt he's been signed as a starter either.

| I like this. There was an absolute furore over 'letting Reardon go', "getting rid of young home-grown British talent and bringing in rubbish etc etc"., but yet the great, lamented Stuart was allowed to leave.
Yet now he's back it's a "poor signing" and to be deplored.
We can't sell him, we can't buy him.

Yes, but you are conveniently ignoring the whole story as usual.
When he left he was an exciting young GB International who looked destined for big things before he left for the money.
We get him back as an injury prone, convicted wife beater who has got nowhere near to fulfilling his potential.
Big difference.

| I'm fairly optimistic that Reardon can turn his career around at the Bulls. When he is fit and in form we know he can be a pretty good RL player. I think the Bulls have taken a punt on him, but it may just prove to be a shrewd signing. If he is our final signing for the backs then I think we still lack some quality in this area though.
To the posters labelling him a 'wife beater' IIRC the reports suggested he had forcefully grabbed his Wife by the arm causing some bruising. Not condoning what he allegedly did, but I think labelling him a 'wife beater' suggests something a lot more serious occurred.
I'm willing to give him a 2nd chance and the benefit of the doubt for now. He will be in Bulls colours next year.. so welcome back Stuart, hopefully your 2nd stint will be as successful as your 1st.

Male grabs his missus and causes her a bodily injury = wife beater.
Not that I care though, as this time last season I was vilified for saying that I could not care less what Bird has alledgedly done as long as he did the business on the park.
Seems that there is plenty of two-facedness on here again.

| I think the term 'wife beater' somewhat trivialises the issue.
