28029_1671444168.jpg Don't think i'm biased...
...i'm just very narrow minded!!!!!!!:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_28029.jpg |

| I rememeber some years back us having a collection around the ground to pay for the transfer of Deryck Fox.
Perhaps we could do the same to pay for McBananas severance pay, that is if the club really are strapped for cash!!!
That said I cannot understand why we cannot afford this given that Bird never arrived and Tame has now gone.
We'll be lucky to get 16000 on Friday but if everyone gave £1 we could have a chance of getting rid of the numpty!!!

You'd be looking at a six-figure settlement. Easy.
And a load more to pay the considerably higher cost of the replacement coaching team you'd have to try and entice at short order.
One assumes Tupou going was necessary anyway to accommodate Bird?
And the impact of the recession - far worse than it will have looked when the budgets were done - and of the onfield performance on projected income for the rest of the season may well mean the club is in no position now anyway to pay out anything that might be spare under the cap.

Why. As for Bird at the time I got told it was a publicity stunt and it seems it may be right in how easily he went to Catalans.

Can you explain why, and how you can be sure of the minimum amount? I think that might be helpful for the broader debate.

Contracted to end of 2010. No idea of his actual package, but it must surely be nearer six-figures than not per annum, if not already there? He'd be due compensation for the unexpired period of his contract. Salary and benefits for about 20-21 months must be easily into six figures?
If the contract provided for payment in lieu of notice (as opposed to just a period of notice) then there would probably be an employers' NIC liability on top.
Its a bit more complex than that obviously, and that's only from things I am qualified to comment on - and there is the duty to mitigate any loss - but that's where I am coming from.

| Quote: Adeybull "rlHood told Sledger otherwiserl'" Well that's total madness giving a rookie head coach a four and half year contract I'm affraid we deserve all we get then. A Tri- nations winning coach only got an initial 2 year deal.

| Thought he only had til end of 2009!
Jeez to get rid now would be £120K+ for Mac alone. If Basil , Lee the conditioner have contracts beyond 09 then you have more payouts to follow.
Paradoxically the cup exit could make mac's job safer!

| If we sacked McNamara then sent a bucket round donating to the Board's wise move then we might get enough to pay him off. I'd put 100 quid in.
