| Quote: Bullseye "I think it's great that Leeds are moving from their successful model of bringing throuhg young players to the 80s/Early 90s model of signing aged/crocked ex internationals.
Can we have Watkins when he gets disillusioned with things at Headingley?'"
Such a successful model that is being followed by the Bulls with the captures of Menzies, Morrison, Solomona etc
Anyway, he hasn't signed yet

We seem to be going for the big player look now with Eastwood signing - still some way off Paul Anderson at his biggest though

Attempted gag or supreme spelling error?

| Hape at Leeds would make me queasy. We know he can do it if fit and motivated, and Indian summers aren't that uncommon. What's the deal with his RL registration?

think you can only retain SL registration for players who've come through your youth setup like karl pryce. Senior players who go to union is just same as going to another SL team you release there registration. Leeds hadn't retained iestyns registration which is why we were able to sign him, If they had retained his reg it would have been a none starter and save a load off trouble

| After watching him cruise through the last 6 mths at your place where all he showed was a huge amount of "don't give a sh#t itis" i'd be gutted if he was to come to us.

| IIRC he gave too much of a sh:t when he came back from njury at the end of 2007. Played like a demon, gave away the intercept that blew the Wigan game.

| Firstly, this has no more credence than a rumour.
However, I'd be disappointed if true because I think Watkins is a star in the making and should be playing regularly and I also think Gibson will be a competent SL centre. I'd rather see one or both of those two given a go.
However, the rumour on our board is its' a a loan deal so I guess it is relatively risk free for us. If we acquire the Hape from the past it will be quite a coup but if he's really a spent force then back to Bath he goes.

| poor signing for leeds if true as they already have a couple of decent kids champing at the bit in the and hape would only slow their progress. Even a loan deal would eat into their available free cap space and possibly prevent them being able to bag a decent player mid season if someone does become available plus cant see bath agreeing to a deal which risks there getting crocked playing for someone else then sent back injured.
Now I could see a loan deal to leeds tykes to learn how to play union at a lower level as being a possibility and it has benefits from baths point of view.

| Any actual evidence of these negotiations? Or is it 'fill in the off season' style speculation.
