Why should they pay you to go to a sporting event? Yes we've served up dross this season, but there have been enjoyable moments and some decent performances. It was worth the £60 imo.

If you don't pledge, the club doesn't get the money it needs to compete, and we are forced to watch more seasons of failure. The club needs SUPPORT, and without as big money backer its down to the fans to give Potter the funds to spend the sc.

I really think the club has to take a massive risk and sign a marquee player. Thats the only way the club are going to get anywhere near five figure crowds next season. I can only see the hardcore fans of about 5,000 and maybe a couple thousand more signing up after yet another dreadful year.

How many marquee players will be willing to sign for a team thats finished outside the playoffs for 3 years?

A marquee player is not what we need. We need quality players, but not all our eggs in one basket again. Lulia and Purtell look a good start to me.

Its not what a marquee player offers just on the field, its off it too, Season Tickets, Shirt sales, Advertising ect. The club would have to work magic and offer a big salary to get a quality player in but it needs to happen. A marquee signing would also boost the existing players confidance, as it did when we signed Orford, we actually looked a decent side, even with a shocking backline with Orford in the team.

I think the club would agree that it would offer alot off the field.

However, Orford was ooc, and there aren't many marquee players that are ooc that I can see. We can't afford to be paying massive transfer fees.

Also, the club was trying to sign Pryce, who would be a marquee signing. This has fallen through I believe and there are only so many targets the club can hve.

Off course we need a marquee signing something to think wow these mean business now none of the recruits for 2012 so far do this.

I still think we should have brought Pryce back.

How do you know they didn't try?

Leon Pryce would have been the perfect example, unfortunatly this seems to have slipped away.

Well we thought we could get Seymour cheaper and have now ended up with neither.

Perhaps they did, but we seem to be 'always interested in top quality players' without actually signing that many of them. I might be wrong but I'd be surprised if Leon would have turned us down if we offered him a competitive deal.

He would have shifted more memberships than Gale and Sammut combined IMO.

Were the club trying to sign Leon or did they have us believe they were trying to sign him?

I want the club to sign Greg Inglis, but if we can't afford him, good PR would be to say we want to sign him.

I'll have a think about the figures later with a beer free head, but do we need the pledge? Would 4k full price season tickets and 4k paying full price every week make us more money, rather than 10k paying peanuts.......
