Surely sign another deal with Bradford and then go after that?
He still has a lot to learn in the game and will develop just fine at Odsal.'"
I don't understand how staying here would help him in his development as opposed to moving to a competition where players, coaches and coaching systems are of a much higher standard.
The best thing for RL in this country would be to get some of our better prospects over there at a young age.

If he comes to Australia, are England able to use them for international footy?
Is Ellis elgiable?
I mean usually when Aussie players go to England they are no longer allowed to play for state or country.
They don't get selected.
I would like to see Burgess at Souths but wish an announcement of what he's doing will come sooner rather than later.

morley used to get selected when he played for sydney. I don't think we need to discourage English players going to the strongest competition in the RL world.

Sending people somewhere else is better for here? Surely the most competitive competition possible here is best for here.

That's not actually true. Aussies who come to SL are still elligible to play for the Aussie national team, however, because the aussie selectors are more than a little predudice, SL aussies are not picked infront of NRL players.
There's no reason that Burgess, should he leave for NRL, can't still play for England. Morley did, I've no doubt Ellis will. Also the Paul brothers played for NZ in an Antac test in 2001, as well as several other kiwis being picked from SL

Personally I'd say he has stagnated, he's definitely not as dominant in SL as you'd have expected him to be when he first came onto the scene, although playing in an underperforming team and having a lot of expectation heaped on him will not have helped.

If we send some of our best prospects over on some kind of scholarship programme for one or two years they would develop their skills and come back much better players.

Is this an opinion or based on any kind of research?

It's based on watching Australian rugby league, the stuff we play over here, and the regular beatings our national side takes when we come up against each other.

Jamie Peacock certainly appeared to improve.

Yes and the likes of Sibbit Mason and Thorman have all become England regulars since playing there

I agree,he's got the potential to be one of the all time greats but at this moment in time he's over-relyed on,not playing in 1 specific position and carrying an under-performing average coached squad.
I'm sure if he goes early to the NRL you'd have his british registration and be 1st choice on his return.
