Quote: Sandy Flaps "I have been part of/used endless schemes over the years and I have NEVER come accross a system where your points can expire in just over two months. I could understand them only been valid for a year or something like that but this is just a con to cheat people out of their points.
There was no email reminder that the points had to be used and if the club knew they should have send out emails to let people know. They obviously received complaints and that is why they put a statement out on the bulls site, obviously too late. At the end of the day it is the Bulls who are associated with such a scheme and this now will have caused bad feeling for many towards the club.'"
I agree it's stupid. Especially since you don't have to register the new card if you had one last year, as it already knows your details. So why it can't just keep the points on there, I'll never know. But it is Teamcard's system that's doing that, not the club. Yes the club agreed the deal so yes there will be a small amount of blame there, but as far as I'm aware the club don't profit at all from anyone's loss of points, so they would have no reason to dupe people out of claiming their points.
As has been said, there have been plenty of money saving offers that have more than made up for the loss of points. Would you have preferred to have your extra £20 to spend in the shop, and pay £180 for your season ticket? Or would you prefer to lose the £20 and pay £60 for the ticket. Yes, I appreciate you want both, and I agree you should have both. But when you look at the bigger picture, the club have rewarded fans in a massive way.
And again, regardless of the crap system that Teamcard use and their bizarre reasons for losing your points, it WAS in the T&C, so again, the fault only lies at one door.
It would have been nice for the club to have sent out a reminder beforehand though, that I do agree with. I do think they slipped up a bit there.
