Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "What a ridiculous post. The truth is that everyone was chasing Donaldson's signature as a schoolboy, since he was considered by many good judges, including the scouts at Wigan and at Leeds, to be the top schoolboy talent in the country. This, I would suggest, is top out of many, many thousands of young RL players. And he showed plenty of that rich promise before his serious injury.

Only a real dullard could consider a lad named as the top schoolboy talent in the country "very average". But hey don't let the facts, much less the opinions of the country's top talent scouts etc. deflect you from your dotty convictions. I am sure you know better than any of them.

so we are on about how good a schoolboy he was and everyone was chasing him, they may well of done but can you see any of the top 8 rushing to sign him now, and please dont all be saying he would walk into any team cos he wont ,he is average, this is his 3rd season in the first team, yes he has had a bad injury but saw nothing before he got injured to suggest hes gonna be anything other than average and im afraid we have too many players who fit that bill

as for crookes, what do people see in him,he runs a few metres from acting half, granted bulls dont pass to wingers, but again hes been in first team squad for 3 years and seen absolutely nothing to suggest hes any good

and in answer to some numptys question, i have played for a lot of years at a very high standard in the national conference league, so i actually do know my stuff

if bulls wants to stay 9th and 10th these are the type of players we will be needing

Schoolboy and Super League are two different beasts.
Being a top schoolboy doesnt automatically mean youre going to make a top super league player.
As we have with Donno so far, he's shown nothing to suggest he has the potential to be a very good SL player.

So far it looks like the countries top talent scouts were barking up the wrong tree.

Before his injury, I must have been watching some other Donaldson, then.

Quote: Toonbull "I think you are being harsh on him. He was offered scholorships by every big name in Super League, we beat them all to his signature and we should be delighted we did. As has been said he's coming back from a horrendous injury which affected his pre-season build up.

Getting rid of Donaldson would lead to me calling for the Board and Potter to be sectioned en masse. It would also make whichever SL side he chose a stronger one.....the more I think about it the more I think you're winding us up, I'm now cross with myself for biting.'"

Donno is crap
Too far up his own
Macca rated him- no one else does
Him being in the England knights squad is laughable! When potter puts a prop -koppy in instead of donno that sums up how little he contributes to bulls.

Quote: Bullsfab! "Donno is crap
Too far up his own booty'"

this is the sort of non-rugby related, malicious asswipe comment that makes me puke. I don't know Donaldson personally but when I've met him he seems like a very grounded young chap, and this seems to be backed up by the Bullbuilder interview rlhttps://www.bullbuilder.co.uk/news.php?arc which didn't seem to find him "up his own booty" at all. Not that if he was, it would have any bearing on his ability to play rugby.

Quote: Bullsfab! "Him being in the England knights squad is laughable! ...'"

Ah yes, forgot that. Yet more of the country's most experienced and knowledgeable selectors dropping a bollock, by failing to have the true and real in-depth knowledge of players that your sort do. Shame that. Funny how, in Donaldson's case, there are so many of them.
eusa_think.gif

Still, having suffered ruptured knee ligaments in the Bulls cause, and battled his way over a year to something like fitness again, all at the tender age of 18, I should think if he reads your comments he'll be glad he did. 'Supporters' like you are the feelgood factor that make it all worthwhile.

Potter putting in Koppy instead of Donaldson says more about Potter than Donno imo.

You're entitled to your opinion on his playing abilities (which I strongly disagree with) but this comment is complete garbage.

His feet are firmly on the ground. I've met his Mum and sister (now an England International back rower) and they were lovely too. He's been brought up very well.

As for "contributing little to the bulls" - you are aware that he made his first team debut during an injury crisis. At the same time his brother was involved in an accident on the family's farm that saw him wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. Despite the club telling him to go home you are aware he decided (as a 17/18 year old kid and with his parents blessing) to stay and continue playing for the club?

I think following his injury a bit of loyalty is owed to him.

Have you met the lad? Spoken with him? Spent several hours in his company?

I have. As have a number who post on here.

And for that reason, I can say with absolute confidence that you are talking total utter and complete bollox.

You'd struggle to meet a nicer, more decent lad IMO. And you can add the likes of Olbi and Koppy in there too.

Now, given we have demonstrated THAT part of what you posted is garbage, I suggest it is probable that so is the rest?
