| I also thought it was a pointless game and next week matters so I would have dropped nearly all players for next week to keep them safe. I have consistently said all year that the main season is relatively pointless as we were always going to get into the top four. I have also said it will all come down to Leigh or us playing Wakey - which it has. So I have no problem there.
What annoys me though is the total lack of effort and enthusiasm of the players who had a good chance to get a spot next week - do they feel they had a chance or do they think Jimmy has his 17 and that is it whatever they did today. Why try when you know you are either guaranteed in or certain not to be selected.
Yes it meant nothing today but don't be blinded to the fact that players who should have been busting a gut today were totally lethargic. Why were they like this yet again. It wasn't just today. It has happened many, many times. A win next week covers it all up.
We on here can discuss this all week but I would like to see Mr Green's face if we don't go up and someone points out all of the awful performances we have put in and asks some questions about quality of signings and poor performances.
If we win next week I am sure some will point out to me that all of those games didn't matter.
If we lose then all of those poor games did matter as we just couldn't switch it on when it mattered.
As far as these play-offs are concerned. it was a 7 game competition and 4 of the games have gone:
Wakey - 48:18
Widnes - 12:56
KR - 38:4
Fax - 18:52
Out of 7 games and we still get into the £1m game. I don't accept it is just about impossible to get promotion. Play cr*p and you still get a chance.
If only Jimmy and Ferres could sign 25 players who give their best and Jimmy gets them up for a game then it is effectively a one game competition. We have tried our best not to get into next weeks game but still find ourselves there because the other 3 Ch. clubs were worse than us. It is very possible to beat Wakey but we have to play at our best and that is the problem as Jimmy has a problem getting them to do this.
Having said this, I do expect us to beat Wakey but if we don't I doubt I will buy a ST for all of those poor games again next year - and am concerned I won't be the only one which is a shame after 40 years as a Northern fan.

| It was clear to see that the team weren't bothered about the result as we've got a much more important game next weekend. I'd say that 4 or 5 of the players playing today will make it into the squad for next week. All you had to do was look at the bench at full time and see how many key players we had taking a weekend off.
Halifax deserved the win and played some really good rugby in the second half. They had some fantastic breaks against a tired and lethargic Bulls defence.

| I've only just watched the match and thank you very much, it was so much a depleted squad and it was worth more to fax than to the Bulls.
As a fax fan I honestly wish you the greatest of luck next week, show the superleague clubs what it's all about.

| Cannot say anything more really than HAPPY DAYS, beating you lot on your own pitch by that score line no matter what team you put out means so much to us long suffering Fax fans who had to suffer year after year of Bull mania when you were top dogs with mass support and some came from Halifax, ugh.
To us it DID MATTER we always want to beat our bitter rivals its like your footy team beating Leeds United to many Bradfordians that is the be all and end all which beating you lot is to us!
We are much smaller than you on about a quarter of your money and part timers to boot, give us some credit please.

| I thought Baile, Fleming and Ryan did well and should be under consideration to replace Blythe, Lauaki and perhaps Mellor to push for a bench spot. Although young Alex Mellor was our top tackler. Matty Blythe is just too inconsistent at the moment and even the crowd started to turn on Epalahame Lauaki.

| I thought Johnstone made runs we never did and wonder how the depth of our squad could be so inept when full time.Ferres needs to accept some responsibility for lack of quality imo.

| From an increasingly disappointed Leyther - thanks a bundle to your guys! All it needs now, is for Wakefield to go through the motions today and we end up bottom!

| Here's a different slant on things. How would it have been for next week, if Jimmy had played his full team and we still lost to Halifax. Anybody that has watched us regularly would have to accept that that was always a possibility.
