| The best place to hear the noise generated by the Odsal crowd seems to be the gap between the Coral Stand and the main stand. And certainly if you sit in the Coral Stand itself to watch the game, the whole place sounds many decibels higher than ever it does in the main stand. I'm assuming this is because the combination of the side and curved end terrace and the main stand act as some kind of echo chamber, funnelling sound towards the Coral Stand end. Whatever, it's very noticeable.

It's a little known fact Odsal is actually a speaker designed to be heard from outer space!

Well, it's long been known that the sound generated there disappears somewhere - btw, I notice that Gerry Sutcliffe was talking about some cover for the terraces on Boots n All last night.

I used to be able to stand there with a pint or a coffee reading the programme or sometimes I could read a sunday supplement out of one of the papers. I once filled out a couple of forms whilst sat down on the pop side. I can't do that now and it's a shame.
People singing and making banners and stuff it's like sunday school. At Huddersfield I was shocked at peoples behaviour to be honest. Fully grown adults singing all the way through the match it's crazy. What's wrong with a simple round of applause after a decent passage of play?'"

I noticed this last night aswell, interesting since i stand on the terraces and really not sure what kind of cover they could put to cover something the size of those terraces!
And even with that, not sure how others feel but i have stood there in all weathers including the odd sunny game and i dont really mind the conditions! Suppose it would be nice not to be soaked but i wouldnt have thought it was a top priority unless its more for the away fans to entice more travelling fans across...

figure of 8-10 million has been mentioned before to put a roof on pop.side due to sheer scale/complications with foundation. Guess they could do something cheaper like wakefield have done and only cover back 1/3 or so a lot cheaper, but seems an odd thing to be even talking about before they've even secured clubs immediate future.

I thought it was an odd thing to mention too, its kind of obvious there are more important things to sort out first. Well if that figure is correct i personally wouldnt want to see that kinda of money spent on a 'shelter' not unless it was important for the licensing criteria for odsal stadium improvements!
Either way i would hope they were dealing with the outgoings and securing the coaching and playing staff rather than getting out the tape measure and measuring up....

It depends who mentioned it as to whether that figure is accurate or ludicrous.

| Back to the fat dogs.
I sit in the Tetley stand and love to hear the singing, unfortunately we cannot join in because we cannot hear the words clearly enough. How about adapting some well known ones that most people will know the words to, for example:
You are my sunshine/bradford
I can see clearly now the rain/Guilfoyle has gone
Any more suggestions?
