Not ready to win the CC yet. We've won it twice before - in 1921 and 1971. By my reckoning, we still have another six years to go.........

Never had a problem with "banter" and in fact it is one of the things that I miss living in the US - "banter with opposing fans at RL games" - nothing like it in US sports. My comment included more than a little sarcasm............that said, I would love to see both the Bulls and Leigh progress against SL sides in the Cup and get promoted at he end of the season.

Sorry couldn't work out how to quote from one board (Leigh) to another (Bulls).........however, all teams have "unrealistic" fans, the Bulls had some expecting to go unbeaten this season!! The Bulls and Leigh should comfortably finish 1st and 2nd (not sure which one will be 1st) but I do not think it will all depend on the Bulls v Leigh fixture at Odsal......I think one of both teams will have an "unexpected" slip up alone the way.

| I think some team needs to put them back into place as getting very arrogant now. To be honest London had no dual players and where poor in Superleague. Lost key players once relegated and i think been lucky with injuries. Be interesting if lost Brierly, Acton and Armstrong in key postions.

Harlem Leigh Globetrotters getting carried away. Next year i bet you believe in winning the Superleague. Anyway heard Scott Moore on his way to Leigh, and that will be fun with Hock.

You say Brierley, Armstrong and Acton. Others have said Ridyard, Kay and McNally. Anyone would think we had a quite a few good players.
To take your example, we'd probably bring in Reynolds, Spencer and Worthington. Enough to make us favourites in most championship games (I'd have Bradford as favourites at Odsal)? Yes. Enough to make us favourites against bottom 4 SL opposition? No, but that SL team would still have to play well on the day.
In any case, yes, if we get a bunch of injuries, we wont be as strong. In other news it has been discovered that China is a bigger country than Wales.

They are not a 'relegated SL team' though; just like us, they [iwere[/i a relegated SL team last October, but are now a championship team. FWIW, we lost a number of SL quality players after being relegated and though we also kept a few, the ones who left were replaced by newcomers, some of whom we don't know too much about yet, indeed some have yet to play a game but they were all recruited with an eye on the championship cap. In short, despite the Bulls attempting to run [ilike[/i an SL team, they patently aren't, so pretending results against either are some kind of sign as to how Leigh would fare against real SL opposition is fanciful at best.
Also, whilst we're on about reading too much into things - you didn't, unlike many of your fans seem to believe, [ibeat[/i Wigan in pre-season, you had a friendly game against them. Y'know, 25 a side, players running on and off every time the wind changes, a game set up to see how the juniors fare in open-age, to test out some moves, look over some different player combinations, give the players a bit of a hit-up etc. Coaches look for many things in these games but the final score is relevant to nothing.
The funniest aspect of all this nonsense is that before the season started, we were worried about championship fans calling us 'arrogant', however, looking at the latest and earlier comments from the LSV it seems we've been well and truly trumped on that one!

Agreed. I don't think anyone has gone unbeaten, even dominant full time teams like Hudds and Cas lost a game. So a lot to expect a team to win 22 or 23 league games on the bounce.

We did beat Wigan in a pre-season friendly. Can argue about what that means (personally, I think it means little, we lost all our friendlies before last season), but can't say that we didn't beat Wigan in pre-season.

| There's nothing wrong with having some hope and the new system gives that ...... as does the Challenge Cup. After years of being locked in to the Championship a glimmer of light looks like an opportunity to reach the promised land. Just like many Bulls fans have been through the dark days recently and we now see the fresh shoots of growth. Sometimes the journey can be a memorable experience in it's own right even if the actual destination is a let down.

| Not saying we [Leigh] would beat a SL team at this moment in time but would be happy to see where we are at if we got one in the Challenge Cup, but we did give Leeds a scare at Headingly last season and I think we are a better team this season so who knows.
Good luck for the rest of the season guys.

| I wouldnt mind another trip to Leigh in the next round. I dont think we're ready to play one of the SL clubs that we might meet in the Middle 8's and I would prefer them to have a few morale sapping defeats first. We're not going to benefit from more games like yesterday's. A trip to Leigh would be a nice indicator of how we're progressing.
