Has no one seen how much a certain joe Wardle has come on dramatically since leaving us for giants! If that isn't player development I don't know what is!

Quote: Bully_Boxer "Probably something to do with the fact that they're not issuing tickets for this match for the Bulls to sell thus losing out on the 10%. Rumour also has it that they would be quite happy to see the Bulls out of SL. Hopefully the players will be up for this game.'"

If this is true then we should all boycott this match.
They probably want to see the Bulls go to the wall in the hope of picking up a few ex fans to boost their paltry attendances.
Once Ken Davy has had enough watch them drop like a stone.

Quote: Cripesginger "oh dear.

Lawrence and Gerry have been regular 1st teamers. (til Gerry got injured playing for England knights). You may have heard of Eorl Crabtree? Bobby Fairbank has played often when not injured. There are also players that no one else was keen to give a sl chance who have come through.

Our 16s have been unbeaten for 2 years and our 15s won 6 from 8. Our 18s are a very competitive outfit ( 3 so far with ft contracts maybe a couple more and 2 are in the england 18s) we lost a close game to the Bulls 18s this year.

Take the time to ask someone informed at the bulls about the young giants players then you can avoid making such ill informed comments. HTH
Obviusly not played the unbeaten Wigan side this year or Hull Kingston Rovers who have only lost once in an away derby match

look at the topic about the programme notes against widnes, if they are doing underhand things like this like not sending tickets so we can have a 10% cut and are one of the sides hoping to profit from our non existence by taking both fans and players I am not sure i want to share my hard earned cash with MR Davey...
The boycott was suggested by another fan.
Not 100 % convinced as I hate missing games but I would have to book an annual leave day as well as pay the money in and im thinking I may choose to sit it out. I have missed probably 4 games in four years including home, away and friendlies, have been to france each of those years and am already booked for this years trip, have trekked to wales, scotland and london so I dont miss for no reason but this could have a few points..

1. points out to super league we will not just be bullied.
2. last years corresponding fixture was 9,466, yesterday for a game against one of the big sides recorded as 5,822 around 3000 fans would be a big stand (aware not all would follow boycott). say 2000 away fans at £20 = £40,000 not bad amount to miss - maybe we could put the £20 towards paying off a debt? again showing our support and passion but also showing a new owner that we dont expect the world from them?

Thoughts?

Nah. Get behind the lads. Ignore Huddersfield. It's not like they are reliant on gate money in any case.

No. They are totally reliant on Ken Davy, who has poured millions into the club. Millions.

I wonder how supportive he has been of our situation?

Nor have they played us. icon_biggrin.gif Hardly surprising as those people who take the time to follow scholarship rugby know that 15s and 16s play a limited number of teams. Beating the Wolves at wilderspool and saints indicates that the giants more than hold their own at youth rugby.

I was going to go but having heard of their penny pinching, mean spirited attitude we will do the same as their fans did until they started winning a few games and not bother going.

If Bulls fans boycotted the game empty seats would necessarily stand out at Huddersfield as being out of the ordinary?

If true a very dissappointing move

Why boycott the game as this would be punishing our players in a way not being there to give our support to them.
Why don't we try turn up in our usual numbers, pay in on the gate but not purchase one item from the concession stalls inside the ground. We could all maybe refrain from entering the stadium until close to kick off time, this may cause panic for the stadium operators.
You may also wish to park at a location different to the stadium operators.
Can tickets be purchsed in advance from Huddersfield Giants? Yes we won't get the commision but it will ensure we pay the prepaid price rather than gate entry fee.
