unfortunately crookes to hull rumour pre-dates the financial meltdown so I think it may have something to it.

Looked a lot better this season, was a revelation till injury. Far better than Ainscough.

Relax guys, he was only asking for our opinions on the player.

Crookes runs the ball in hard, very similar to Gareth Raynor in that respect but doesn't quite have the ability to spin and offload like Raynor used to do (with almost every tackle if I remember correctly).
He has a pretty safe pair of hands, during this season I can't really remember any instances of him making a glaring error.
He also has pace to burn, you will have seen this during the friendly we played against Hull in pre season when he scored a length of the field intercept try, and again in our league game when he made some great defensive efforts coming across from the opposite wing to almost deny Tom Briscoe a try.
Stick him outside a decent offloading centre like Lulia and he will score tries (see our game against Rovers - Crookes scored a hat trick).

His negatives will be that he's quite small, so may not do so well under the high ball, and he's probably not going to create a try from nothing like Tom Briscoe can.

I would rather he stayed with us, but won't be devastated if he leaves.

he's also given a few penalties away for tackling in the air. a very keen player and very improved. fingers crossed he signs a new deal at the bulls.

He's OOC end of this year so it's his choice .
As a free agent he will no doubt look for the best deal for himself
He may have been offered a further contract at the bulls or he may not, or at least one that he can turn down with a better one promised.
Yes, I would have liked him to stay, but if wants to leave we'll just have to say goodbye.

If we have offered him a deal same or better as his current one are we entitled to compo? Or is that just footie?

You're not wrong, he's 22, so I believe we are entitled to some type of compo

Well I would imagine the club will be looking to offer him a new deal after a promising start to this year. Before that he struggled with injuries and never looked likely to be a future star. He still needs to prove himself in SL so we'd be foolish to get into a bidding war for his services.

If the price is right I would like to see him stay at the club though.

Agree about Crookes. With things as they are though there will be quite a few hoping for the same I'd guess.

Think his only difference this year is Keith Lulia at the side of him.

Not sure I would agree entirely, but they did look a good combination. Crookes did a lot of good stuff in defence as well as attack before his injury.
