| Look left, right, up, down and straight ahead and, last but not least, look backwards. Nope, still can't see an alternative with his/her hand up.

She's probably weighing up moving in and taking over after cutting her ties with Hull FC.

We owe it to our children and our grandchildren to make sure they can continue to enjoy this very special Club for years to come - as we have.'"
Personally I find this pretty distasteful. I'll pledge the money but spare me the blackmail.
I'm not at fault for this heaven knows I think I've forked out enough cash over the years in comparison to what i have to spend on other things.

Yes of course, change is impossible. Instead we should each give £100 to people who have proven themselves unable to make a go of things, who have been particularly disingenuous with their public pronouncements recently and who have used the same pledge marketing repeatedly only to result in failure and who compound that with trying to elicit guilt in those they want money from. Yep, couldn't possibly be any alternative to that, excepting the obvious ones - a change to the ownership structure, but of course that won't come about if people keep donating to money to keep the present ownership as it is. There are plenty of community owned sporting franchises I've detailed the ownership structures in the other thread and will happily provide further examples if needed.

| Having had my confidence in the current administration pretty well shattered by today's news, totally out of the blue for us, if clearly not for the board, I can no longer put up a convincing argument to those who say enough is enough.
Unfortunately, and in this I agree with Bulliac, we have not yet seen any sign of any credible alternative. It is early days, so there is time yet for one to manifest itself. Even if the most likely candidates would doubtless sit it out waiting for the company to fall over, so they can pick the assets up cheap and debt-free from the administrator. I am assuming that Caisley must surely be a leading candidate?
This isn't Rochdale or Bramley; any supporter's bid would have to be on a far larger scale and have pretty extensive backing. I'm not saying it won't happen, just cautioning those who are maybe thinking about it not to seriously underestimate what is involved - not least in terms of time. And the amount of cash you'd need would probavly be a bit scary, although I'm sure that a well-constructed bid could access a variety of external funding sources.

| Nobody can now defend Peter Hood. Everyone within the game knew we were financially unstable, and this muppet has always come out and said we were ok. Now we have 2 weeks to raise the money, when this should have been sorted sooner.

I wouldn't know how to look at this from the POV of some potential hard-headed businessman buyer, but if it was me I would not think it a good idea to lose all the assets we have in young players, just to get the remnants albeit 'debt free'. Surely anybody wanting to come in (please! ) in the particular case of a club like the Bulls, would prefer to keep the jewels than start as an also-ran in the Championships?
I have in the past said on here that I've found it increasingly hard to watch players doing well for other clubs when they should all have still been here. I honestly don't think I could stomach watching the birth of a runt Bulls whilst the likes of Whitehead, Bateman, Donaldson, Addy etc were plying their trade elsewhere. I fear it would be too much.
And that's my quandary as whatever we do, the only option where in the short term we keep the players is if the fans gift the present incompetent shower a million squid, for nothing, just to still have the old team remain in situ for god knows how much longer.

Probably the other 15 that are out of contract?

| We all know clubs don't talk to players before deadline day.
On a serious note, until this is sorted, its going to put off any players re-signing.

| First reaction this morning was to reach for the debit card and make a pledge. I was seriously close to tears first thing this morning.
I've thought seriously about it since and the wrestle with my conscience is still ongoing. Eventually heart may rule head and I'll make the pledge. For Chr*st's sake I even persuaded the wife (A Loiner) to come with us last Sunday and forked out £25 for her to sit in the stand with us. I'm a quarter of the way already.
But! My head is currently of the opinion that that pledge will only be made if Hood steps down from the board. It has been suggested that he has been disingenious? Well, I like to call a spade a spade and for that matter a liar a liar and that is exactly what Hood has been doing over the last few weeks and possibly several years.
So, money is waiting to be pledged but Hood will have to go first. I refuse to breathe life into a dead duck and support the same muppets who have run the club into the ground. How soon before they'll be asking us for another £1m then another?

Possibly not but it is still a better option than having a complete fanny like Hood in charge.
