Quote Exeter Rhino="Exeter Rhino"Would Bellamy really be the best option? Bradford seem to have the opposite financial circumstances to Melbourne (noting Isaac's comment), and he's hardly worked wonders with NSW against a star-studded Queensland side. He's obviously a brilliant coach - but the right one for you?'"
Are you being serious?
Let me start off by saying I seriously doubt we could afford somebody of his quality and reputation. So I hope people do not get their hopes up for a Craig Bellamy stepping into the hot seat.
However if money was no object and the decision was mine, Bellamy would be among the 3 or 4 coaches that I would pick from. I the Bulls need to do something to inspire the fans back up to Odsal. We signed big name players like Matt Orford (people on this very forum wanted a 'marque' signing) and it has had done nothing to increase the crowds. I think the next appointment is very important to the long term future of the club. The appointment ideally needs to be a popular one and somebody that will re-ignite some interest back into the club.
I'd question Hood's judgement if he had the opportunity and means to bring in a World class coach and passed on the opportunity! Unfortunately I expect this is nothing but a silly rumour, if we end up with a Denis Bett/James Lowes/Harrison appointment then I expect team card memberships to drop on this years figures.
Out of the more realistic targets, I'd love to see Mick Potter at the Bulls.
