| Omar's is the cheaper, less whitey version.
Omar Khan's is licensed and has cutlery.
Food wise Omar's is pretty good when the old chef is on and it's quiet. When it's busy the quality can nosedive a bit.
Omar Khan's is pretty average typical fare. You can better stuff more cheaply at a few other places.

159.jpg [b:2penstlp][size=200:2penstlp]AP is less than 0.5% interested in the substandard Stupor League.
England's substandard performances in the RLWC08 saw to that.[/size:2penstlp][/b:2penstlp]:159.jpg |

| Anyhoo.....
My rankings of Bradford Curry's over past six months are?
[i1. Punjab Sweet House - 8.0/10.0
2. International (lunchtime only!) - 7.5/10.0
3. Omars - 7.0/10.0
4. International (evenings only!) - 6.0/10.0
5. Karachi - 6.0/10.0
6. Omars (when busy!) - 5.5/10.0
7. Westgate - 4.0/10.0
8. Silver Jubilee - 3.0/10.0[/i
I'll be trying out the Kashmir next. Another one I used to frequent a lot but not been there for years.

Too right. It's a real shame, but the SJ has gone downhill loads in the last couple of years. Since the closure of large numbers of pubs in that area, all the curry houses have suffered

| I can only think that this new chef was to blame for the terrible curry then. It was almost completely dead when I went in (about 10.30ish on a Wednesday night) and I think there were only two other people actually eating in there. The others were just sat watching some comedian on the telly (or at least I assume he was a comedian as they seemed to be finding it all very funny). The last time I went was quite a few years ago, so it looks like I managed to miss the decent chef.
Forgot to mention too, I stupidly went in a curry house in Llandudno the other week, as we happened to be around that way and bloomin hungry. Typical kind of curry you'd get anywhere but Bradford and Rusholme. No taste, absolutely swimming in sauce. I'd also ordered the "chicken and mince" variety, and didn't get one little bit of mince in there. A valuable reminder of "don't eat curry outside of the competitive areas".

| We need to start a campaign to make restaraunts pin their staff rotas to the window for all to see. The International and Omars are both very different places depending on the time of day and week it seems.

| last friday we went to the restaurant in our village ( wyke).the Khyber house.the Khyber has been a takeaway in Wyke for over 25 years & has always done a good trade in our village.it's now opened as a restaurant too & is as delicious as ever.we started with poppudums & a pickle tray followed by a mixed started which consisted of chicken pakora's, mushroom pakora's, onion bhagi's, samosas & mushroom bhaji's all with a sauce tray.all were delicious & well cooked & spiced.the poppudums we had were fresh & crispy too.for our main course i had a lamb madras which was delicious & very well spiced although not too hot.Mrs BT had a lamb dopiaza which she said was delicious too.the whole thing ( plus a big bottle of spring water & chapatis with our meals) came to just over £20 which i didnt think was too bad.they're lovely people who deserve a full restaurant, imo, all he needs to do is advertise a bit more.

| Ah the Frontier. Still remember getting vouchers through to go for free on my 18th birthday with a bottle of bubbly if enough of us went. Was gonna go until I looked up what was on that night and it turned out to be the village people tribute band....

| Whether it's "whitey" or not, last night's Akbars Chicken & Keema Balti was bloomin gorgeous. Although I have a serious case of ringer stinger this morning. 3 visits already and I've only been up just over an hour.
