I doubt it.

13554.jpg The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!
If you like old type radio comedy/ dramas etc listen to //pumpkinfm.com/
Statistically speaking you have a better chance of getting dead the older you get!

| The T & A is a media news outlet and sells on two main premises Bad News and Hype, and on the political front has very few morals. Even Sadler at TRL has realised reporting salient facts is much better especially as it's an RL media outlet. Don't forget how the local reporters get the news and what the facts are in it depends on what bias the Editors want to spin etc, one would think there is an agenda against the present board, probably due to unseen so far promises of wrongdoing emerging, dangerous game to play with the media cause if it doesn't pan out certain parties will instantly become villans and get hammered in print!

| Quote: eddievan "Mick, the Gerry Sutcliffe (if everybody didn't already mistrust mps for whatever reason) could have derailed the pledge scheme. It mentioned that the club was losing £100 000 pounds a month, if any pledgers were to take this at face value it could have completely put them off donating to a "lost cause". This could in turn could have damaged the chances of the clubs survival irreparably. I have not seen the £100 000 figure mentioned anywhere apart from the article, surely if the T and A is to publish a story like this it should question the validity of the things it chooses to publish, when the outcomes are so precious to many of us.'"
Would potential pledgers be put off by an article suggesting we are losing £100,000 per month when they weren't put off by the Bulls announcement that we needed to raise £500,000 immediately and a further £500,000 very soon after?
Bearing in mind that these are clearly very rounded ballpark figures, they dont seem hugely contradictory. £100,000 per month isn't that far off the £500k that is needed to run the club for the rest of the season once the immediate debts are paid off.
Clearly the more financially sophisticated would appreciate that accounting losses of £100k per month are quite different to negative cashflow averaging £100k per month. But by the standards of newspaper reporting generally, the reporting doesnt seem that misleading. It certainly doesnt seem to me to be evidense of bias. Dumbing down perhaps.

Beginning to think it might be poor reporting and the BOD losing the media battle.

| All this highlights the fact we have no struture at the top. Surely this would have been avoided if we had had a Media Manager, even an unpaid one.

| apart from all his duties hes more the football side not financial. I could quibble with a few things on the football side eg Wigan website has injury status on, as if they should worry, but in the context of Stuart helping to build a squad that can win even when half of it is missing, a minor point!
To me the real test of the TnA was whether it published the Bullbuilder press release following the several hours of discussions with the Bulls board. I assume that they got a copy, however i have not seen it mentioned in the TnA. That to me is all the evidence you need, that they should promote some actor and an ex chairman above the supporters that are there week in week out season after season helping to build a core of young skillful players that want to play for our club.

| The latest BullBuilder release got some press with the T&A - but showed it as more of a "Bulls fans demand answers" type article.
The first release where BullBuilder asked fans to pledge to save the club and worry about who runs it later, got a lot less coverage.

| Quote: M@islebugs "Why would the T and A be biased against the current board?
There's a Salem-esque element going on here where anyone not wholly uncritical of the board or giving space to any other take, is a 'proxy for Caisley' or has an 'agenda'. By agenda we mean secretly wishing to destroy the club. To claim the T and A which has given this board a free ride for years in my view has an agenda against them is absurd.'"
Precisely and as ever Maisel, a more balanced view than many seem to be willing to consider.
To critique a media platform that the club seeks to use as its flag waving machine is absolutely ludicrous. The T&A are there to sell newspapers and generate advertising revenues. It's that simple. They're not in existence to provide any leg up to a mis-managed, directionless Bradford business whoever they may be.
Similarly the Duncan Preston bashing (I've never met him and would consequently only make a judgement if I had, unlike many on here) is futile. Futile because it is emotively driven nonsense. If a man who can command column inches and has a viewpoint wishes to use it, then that is his prerogative. Nor is he duty bound to side with Mr Hood or Mr Caisley. If he chooses to, that's his choice. Many on here forget the very essence of freedom of speech and choice.
As for the club not having a media manager. That's a blatant untruth. More worrying is the clubs innate belief that this role isn't of more significant value, notwithstanding the need at this moment in time, but more simply, any pro sports club is duty bound to be a live positive rolling commentary for the fan base and beyond. Smacks of arrogance to perform to the contrary.

| A couple of things with repsect to Duncan Preston and "emotively driven nonsense" I have never met the guy either but I know he has two shares and has been the guest of the Bulls, entertained in the Boardroom for many years, accepting their free and generous hospitality. If, at a very conservative guess, it's cost say £60 a pop for that hospitality (free food, free booze, free seat, free parking, free programme etc), Mr Preston has taken £1000s out for a big fat zero in return!

This was the point of my post. Its a job title added to everything else Stuart Duffy does. I think role needs a higher profile, particularly just now. No criticism of Stuarts workload intended.

| got it thanks Badger"The Bulls also received support from BullBuilder, the supporters trust, following face-to-face talks with the Bradford board."[/i[/size
in a very long article which has the headline and most of the contentBradford Bulls[/size
The word buried springs to mind. So no change, in fact this is classic politicians tactics, burying the bad news, so I believe the TnA in its editorial policy is guilty as charged, of being biased. So whats new in the newspaper world?

Since you've never met him, its reasonable to assume that you have no idea if he made a generous pledge.
So the comment about him putting in 'a big fat zero' is simple a baseless accusation
