| Would be interested in Worrincy's stats. He seemed to take 2 out of every 6 drives.

| Quote: Bullseye "...same as how when we beat Cas every player could claim to have worked hard and defended well.
The patacake we played versus Fax, Warrington and Salford looked to me like a team playing as a bunch of individuals. Versus Wire and Salford those individual seemed resigned to defeat and went through the motions. I don't think anyone can escape blame for that.
To name one player, L'Strange, makes an awful lot of attempted tackles and puts in a lot of effort. I do wonder sometimes though if that's misdirected sometimes or if either he or his teammates are capable of working together to do better in defence.'"
"Now this is the law of the Jungle-
as old and as true as the sky:
And the Wolf that shall keep it shall prosper,
but the Wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk,
the Law runneth forward and back.
For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf,
and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack."
Rudyard Kipling - Second Jungle Book.
When a team is pulling together, amazing things can happen.

| Perhaps reading poetry to the team may help, it worked for Peter Fox!

| L'Estrange isn't short on effort but his was the worst defensive error of the day.

| That balls up was exactly what I had in mind. There was no communication, he just did his own thing.

Looked good, nice little stadium, the pitch looked fantastic - would love to have a game on that!!
The Skircoat stand could do with some work, but I've been to worse stadia.
Would have been nice if Halifax fans turned up to watch the game, we must have outnumbered the fax fans 4-1

| Fax official blog says they outnumbered us. Also, they won the last game at Thrum
Hall 26-6.

| Half of you are Halifax is based on a misunderstanding of the fact that when times are hard for a RL club, people sod off down the garden centre or wherever. Fax seemed to think their missing thousands had decamped en masse to Odsal.
Always thought the obvious retort was "all of you are Halifax" but we don't sing so it's academic really.

| Bradford did fantastically well at attracting new young supporters 10 -12 years ago, many of whom were from Calderdale
this hacked off a fair few Fax fans but it is not the fault of the bulls you just did a better job and were sucessful at it

| Quote: Bullseye "Could be, but more likely it's some players are just better at it than others. Once we miss enough tackles and the score starts to blow out the heads then drop and we concede further and in the end we aren't in the tackle in numbers at all, everyone starts to play as an individual. The Salford game was a classic example. We started both halves ok with fairly solid defence but after a few mistakes it spiralled out of control and the defence went like Swiss cheese.
It probably does come down to coaching and looks to me again like the team not defending as a unit or communicating enough. A team that doesn't talk in defence is always asking for it. Whatever, the players don't seem to have confidence at the moment.'"
Just a quick thought on the defence, (probably mentioned elsewhere but I don't have the time to read all the threads these days so sorry)
I'm just editing the U20's Vs Saints game (high scoring loss BTW ) and for the third time in four weeks we shipped 2 or 3 back to back tries, being unable to stop a team going the full length and scoring on consecutive sets without us touching the ball seems to be an attitude and organisational problem as it keeps happening. And I'm guessing they use the same defensive structures (or lack of) as the first team. Confidence and working as a group in defence seems to disappear quickly under any pressure and we don't work hard enough from marker in either U20's or 1st team.
Not sure of the solution other than hard work on the training pitch, but consistency in the players around you would help, a lot of our combinations in the back row, in the halves, in the outside backs have been in constant flux for one reason or antoher, which can't help. As soon as we get players playing consistantly with each other they might start trusting the man alongside and work a bit harder?? It won't turn them into world beaters, but it could make us harder to play against. All easier said than done to fix it of course.

| Prior to Bullmania, when Fax were a big club, it was my favourite ground to visit with Cas. We would always sit in the seats & be guaranteed good company & debate. I don't ever remember good natured winding up, it was so pleasant. I once went on my own with Cas after I had moved to Bradford & was stood on the terrace opposite the seats. The Fax fans around me got me in on the chat & one old lad asked how I was getting back, I said I was walking back to the station. He went out of his way & drove me back there. It would be terrible if those sorts of fans no longer go to matches.

| I enjoyed going to the Shay, cracking little stadium. I hope they get the other stand sorted out, it's a perfect RL stadium.
Unfortunately I'm friends with some Halifax fans so I cop for my fair share of banter. It would be good to see them back in SL for regular games.
