| Agreed with BB in opinion that Deacon simply needs dropping and offloading.
He was cleanly skinned 3 times today (and probably more). 2 led to tries and the other he laid on the floor in a heap.
Sykes seems unable to take a ball in when he's been put through a gap, again knocking on a few times today when doing so.
4 minutes for the academy lad today (can't remember his name). What is the point - even the crowd mocked those 4 minutes with a huge cheer when he came off the bench.
I've said it all season, do we not coach in defense? We allow the other side to offload way too easily and for me it's not good enough.
Oh, and Newtons pass that led to the intercept could be seen all the way back from 1950, it was that predictable.

| The problem is and has been over the last few weeks, despite playing some not bad rugby in patches against the two best sides in the league, we seem to have a tiny little spell where we just don't show up. It was just before HT against Saints, at the start against Leeds, and today just after HT. We aren't an 80 minute team at the moment.
I'm just dismayed with Deacon, great servant for this club but that doesn't warrant a starting spot at 7 next year. Jeffries needs tying down to a new deal, he's carrying Deacon through long periods of the game. I thought Newton played well, barring the intercept obviously. The side look lost and lack direction when he goes off the field.
Becoming increasingly worried with the performances of Jamie Langley and Paul Sykes, who's defensive performances are getting torn to pieces.
Donaldson looked hungry for the farcical few minutes he was given, wanted to take the ball and ran some nice lines.
Not happy with the fans around me who seem to pint everything on the referee.. sigh. Tadulala was terrible in the air and under the high ball today, but our fans seemed to believe he was taken out, which I disagree with.
Kudos to Cas, who played their rugby and probably deserved the win. However, one thing which stood out today was the performance of Dave Halley. Almost faultless, and one woman had the gall next to me to say he was p!ss poor! Shocking, in my opinion.

| Surprised nobody has mentioned the lack of sending off of Westerman. Should be banned for the rest of the season. He clearly went with shoulder intentionally to back of Deacon's head when laid on the floor.
The ref also missed a professional foul flop after one of our breaks ran (as usual) into the only defender around. The flop was clearly done to stop a quick play the ball.
But overall our inability to tackle and ability to turn clean breaks into nothing were the reasons we lost to a team that played even worse than we did.

18821_1298880800.jpg
I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.
Another classic:
You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.
Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.
Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666
0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".
Therefore ZERO.
| Well we're now 5 points off 8th position. We've never looked like getting any kind of consistency all season and today's effort doesn't do anything to suggest the major improvement needed is around the corner. Where other teams pick up the points we falter.
It's a bloody good job the SL increased in size and got rid of the drop or we'd be staring down the barrel of relegation.

| Reet my two penneth
2 the daft mooses stood in front of me,,Deacon was crap today regardless of his years of service today he was left wanting, players ran round him for fun his defence was none exsistent he brought nothing offensively, telling me kindly to "shut my mouth" DIDNT MAKE HIM ANY BETTER
Sykes seems to have no ability to catch, run pass or tackle and wtf was he doing when he went for a ball Menzies clearly had covered.
in the second half we were devoid of ideas their was no continuity at all.
IMO it comes down to the following
too many players OOC and generally dont give two farts
Coaching team is rubbish, our assistant coach wasnt deemed good enough for Queensbury ffs
conditioning is poor size isnt everything (ask Halley our only shining light)
Fans will stay away if that is what they have to put up with and then listen to all the e coming out of the club, Macca grow a pair and admit you have no idea what you are doing and actually drop some players i would rather see the kids give it their all and loose than watch a load of premadonnas go half assed.
On a brighter note Platt playing for the kids cheered me up

| He has dropped players, Platt and Cook to name 2. Playing Lynch for 75 mins adds nothing to the game we will just burn him out or get him injured. What's the point of dropping anybody if the lad you put on the bench gets only 4 mins? It just meant that a team that was struggling had to struggle longer because somebody was scared to put the kid on the pitch. It's been said before if we are just going to sit kids on the bench well hey I can do that for free. Also the way Sheriffe and Sykes were playing he should have taken one of them off especially when Widders tore through and left them for dead, my wife could have caught him!
No team spirit, no pride and no idea. I hope we have an end of season cull with Stevie Mac top of the pile and take his entire backroom staff with him.
Bring on the wonder kids and salvage some pride.
Rant over beer in fridge.......

20201.jpg "I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a triple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union. But I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league." - Graham Lowe (1995):20201.jpg |

| Our set plays are entirely predictable, for the most part we're incapable of defending a lead, the interchange is completely flawed, our defense down the right is woeful, 7 and 9 offer little and our confidence is brittle. Until we get rid of McNamara who has made the 'collapse' a central part of our playing mentality and we can psychologically start again, the team will continue to do the same thing again and again.
Set plays, interchanges, confidence etc are Mcnamara's responsibility and he's failed time and time again. Remeber that Halley our best player today, was farmed out to Wakey where he scored tries at will during the first part of the season whilst McNamara stuck with Platt.
There are countless other examples, but hey he's rebuilding etc etc. Fact is he can't build a decent team, so how he's going to re-build a club I have no idea. He reminds me more and more of Cullen, someone who is out of his depth in SL, promoted above his ability and clueless when the pressure is on. For crying out loud, what more proof do we need, another low crowd which will drift lower now there's nothing left to play for meaning less income and less chance to see this so called rebuilding come to fruition.

| One of the worse things is we are sat in the stand and you can predict the mistakes we are going to make.
Cass make an error and we get the ball back , prediction "2 play and we'll cough it up" result 2 plays and Deacs spills the ball.....
Cass knock on, prediction we won't complete the set. Result 3 plays and a forward pass.
Final prediction, Deacs will miss the kick, result Deacs missed the kick. We didn't deserve to draw..
Cass were not on form today, what does that say about us?

| Very disappointed we played well once again and came out with nothing I still think we can make the play-offs but we need to be much more consistent its no good winning one game then loosing next three games.
