I don't subscribe to this "his goal kicking was good but he did nothing else to warrant his inclusion" view. The fact is that Deacon was the difference yesterday because of his goal kicking. It would have been handy if he had been more creative in the middle and kicking on the last but he was integral to us winning the game which is all important.
If it were the grand final and we beat 18 vs 16 because we kicked three from three conversions and they kicked 2 would it really matter how he played during the rest of the game?

If you had a decent scrum half perhaps you wouldn't be in a position where you had to rely on kicks. |

I have never been having a joke about Deacon - merely stating the fact that he was the mastermind behind our seaons of success !!
