Thing with Perpignan was that for years we won every time we went over there [apart from one cup game], then after that early run we couldn't buy a win in France.

| It must have been around 1990 and we were away at London when they played at Barnet Polytechnic.
It literally came down in buckets and the wind was so severe that one of the kick-offs caught the went and went behind for a goal line drop-out.
Another one which I've mentioned numerous times over the years on here would be Hull FC away in the last ever game we played at the Boulevard.
The supporters coaches failed to turn up on time, meaning we didn't get to the ground till halftime by which time we were 20-12 down. It was worth the journey in the end because of Michael Withers' last minute drop-goal to see us win by a point.

I was there as an 11 year-old and it was for me the truly defining arrival of the Bradford Bulls brand.

I was one of those who was due to use the coaches. I'd rarely used the coaches before, but the last time I'd gone to the Boulevard I'd come back without wing mirrors, so decided to not risk the car this time. When the coaches hadn't shown up within a certain time frame, I left and went home to watch the game on Sky (a decision I was happy with considering the coaches ended up getting to the Boulevard about half time) and got my money back later.
Never used the official coaches again after that. I was fuming I'd missed a game and such a big ending due to someone else's ineptitude.

Yeah, I was the same, I've not used the official supporters coaches since that cold Friday night.
Credit to Hull FC, they let everyone in for free off the two coaches.

Yeah they did, opened a large gate to let us through, IIRC. Well done to them!

| My recollection was that they let people in for half price (for half the game). Although I also remember hearing about them opening the gate to let people get in quickly, so I may be wrong on that one. Not actually being there myself at the time, it's difficult to say for sure.

| Quote: Bulliac "I'm not shocked to hear that it came from the directors - I've never seen a game like that in all my life, and the weak, bloody awful referee ought to have curled up in shame and resigned his commission at the end of it. The fact that the RFL backed that man sums them up too, imo.
Not surprised the directors thought twice about admitting it though, I suspect they would have been banned and fined by the RFL, if they had. Thugby league had nothing on that day, an utter disgrace to the game.'"
I was there that day too, horrible weak refereeing and a Rovers team determined to give it to a young Northern team. I remember taking to Phil Sanderson who played that day, he said Peter Fox told them to come off if there was any more mischief.
I also remember being drawn against Rovers at Odsal in the Yorkshire Cup a few months later, and another young team beat a very experienced Rovers team 15 14 I think, and Sir Keith scored a try from his own half against the man who used to get in the GB team ahead of him because of his better skill on attack, George Fairbairn!

Another that cemented the arrival of the Bulls in 96 was beating Wigan at Odsal with 12 men after Jeremy Donagher was sent off late in the First Half when we were losing. The second half battering we gave to Henry, Edwards, Farrell etc. was mind blowing, led by the Penguin, Mr. Bradley. Be good if we could find such a leader from somewhere now

Wasn't it from about 15 yards from his own line ?

Just looked it up Saints first on 5th July, Wigan week after on 12th, both on Sky with 11.5k there for Saints and almost 17.5k for Wigan. Anyone have a tardis to take us back to that season

Mind plays tricks when so far back, certainly well in his own half.

| I was up at Odsal with my brother buying our season tickets when big Les walked in, it was his first day at the club.
His wife and her sister were there, both huge women, as big as him.
One asked the girl behind the counter to order a taxi, to take them in to Bradford, my brother said we would give them a lift.
It was driving on 2 wheels down Manchester Road, I could feel the car breathing a sigh of relief when they got out......
