It was his debut for them, but it was probably registration issues or summat Sammut related that prevented him from playing their first game against Salford.

Fwiw, without looking I believe Scruton also played against us on every occasion since too. Just noting it, someone above mentioned an ex-player who went to Wakefield asked for and received permission to not play against us. I don't think that's true.
