Many fans have said this all season but we had hope that the squad at his desposal might have seen him through. Not many fans have agreed with his tactics or his petulant manner.

| Jimmy Lowes is absolutely right to criticise the system. We all knew the rules of the competition but many also knew that there is an inbuilt disadvantage to Championship sides. It's not just the financial imbalance in terms of both salary and funding. That is not sour grapes from me-, Wakefield deserved to win
jimmy is absolutely wrong to blame the referee .Silverwood in fact was criticised by Cummings for " breaking protocol" when he obviously consulted the video officials in the incident which led to the missed Addy penalty. That was after the assistant seemed to say he'd seen nothing wrong. I thought Silverwood kept control very well .And when Lowes sees the replays of the 2 disallowed tries he will see the video refs gave the right decision.
Those that watch the recording might want to test their lip reading ability when it cuts to the Wakefield chairman celebrating a try.

| Gutted you lost would have been great to have you back. With hudds and cas decent leeds would have had a ''big game'' to look forward to nearly every week.

| Gutted to say the least - just what I expected.
Whilst the game itself was exciting, the whole competition has been predictable.
I think we all knew that the leagues would remain the same for next year. As many have said, they have brought back an illusion of P&R.
Yeah we had a better chance than we thought we would due to Wakeys issues, but in the end we were always fighting a losing battle.
Differences in budget and intensity over the season are just too big to overcome.
Hope we don't go part time - that would see the Bulls become extinct before too long IMO.
Wakey deserved it - we let in a couple of soft tries. Whether or not they deserve to be in SL or not is debatable. They were the whipping boys this year and will be next year.

| I am gutted. Wakefield were there for the taking, but we coudn't get up to the level of the Leigh and Salford games, and fell tantalisingly short.
I will leave comments about Wakefield's performance to their fans, all i will restrict myself to saying is that despite being below our best, we had every chance to win, but we blew it. Yet we came so close, which makes it worse - much worse. Had Addy kicked the two goals he missed, we would almost certainly now be in SL.
But as he had missed the first one, it was the wrong decision to go for the second one. They were tired, we were on attack, we had six tackles to go, against a team which would be frightened to death and ready t panic, knowing if in that set they conceded, there was no way back.
I really don't think that had we tied, we would have been favourites in extra time and the fact of the kick being so way out wide, and the mess Addy had made from wide earlier, meant it was a serious risk that taking the kick would cost us the game. Whereas taking the pen gave us a great chance for glory.
Without having had much time to think about it, my first impressions are that despite the fact we could and should have won, we had a few players ff the pace. Addy didn't play well, in the sense that he didn't create much and was pretty anonymous . You can't blame him for the kicks, but I would have put money on Shaw to get them.
Siejka is no good. He tries, but his decision making is poor, his kicking is often rubbish, and he is frankly a liability. That was him in a key game, and he never came up with one single play, he never put anyone through a gap, and he just didn't look anywhere near a good player. I've had it with him. No Smith to play against, it was his moment, and he fluffed his lines.
Lauaki shouldn't be anywhere near the team, because he did what he always does, with the exception of he didn't give a penalty away. Fleming deserved his chance.
And that is just about it. I thought most of the rest toiled manfully all day, the defence was great for most of the time, Ferguson was superb, Purtell was not at his best but still very good. Nielsen was decent. Blythe on the wing wasn't my idea of heaven but he did nothing wrong. O'Brien - (why was he spelled? In this game of all games?) was pretty effective.
It would not have taken much at all to turn this poor Wakey team over today, but with no scrum half and half a Gaskell, our toil and effort just lacked the clinical final touch. We spent plenty of time in ther 20 and near their line - but we neer looked dangerous. Siejka is rubbish in that position and his pathetic attempt at a grubber, (I nearly fell asleep while he mustered it) almost cost a try. He akss no questions of the defence but worse, I think he worries the rest of the team, as he doesn't give the impression that he is confident, or that they understand what he's doing.
Why was Lowes moaning about the ref? I thought Silverwood had a decent game. Even doing a Ganson and going to the VR illegally, doing us a favour.
The biggest shame was that Gaskell wasn't playing. I understand why we took a chance, but it simply didn't work, he was undercooked and hesitant, lacking in confidence, and never offered any real threat. It could have worked, but it didn't. The real Gaskell sadly was not on the pitch.
Having read about some of the post-game comments, I fear the worst. For starters, there will be no team as bad as Wakey next year, so that was our main chance, and we blew it. For another, it remains to be seen whether we can keep a relatively settled squad but the fact is that we would need to improve it by acquiring a couple of heavyweight forwards and an actual scrum half, as well as keeping our few SL class existing players, but the clear ominous impression I got was that we have been paying above our weight this season, and that next season, Mr. Green isn't going to do it. Which means we can't significantly strengthen and which leaves us vulnerable to the best players going. I fear we will lose O'Brien and Gaskell and if we do, then that is that. I hope I'm wrong, but we will never have a better chance again. IF (big if) we kept the main part of the squad together and strengthened where needed with genuine quality that we would be a significantly better team in our second season. But whether good enough to beat next season's worst SL side I seriously doubt. And if my fears are well founded, then we will just have witnessed the start of our next demise, because without your Gaskells and O'Briens, there is simply no hope.

| No other sport would allow you to sign 11 mercenaries as Wakey did in order to keep them up. Had we played the side that lost 11 games or so on the trot then we would have probably won. Mulhalley for example was very pleased when he scored his try but he won't even be playing for Wakey next season! The system is clearly loaded in favour of S/L clubs and the word promotion is a joke.

| 11 players my a... You had the best opportunity you are ever likely to have for promotion.
You played a Trinity team that could have been beaten, and after the disruption to the squad during the week should have been.
I doubt you will ever get a better chance

| Are we really going to start getting into all that petty sh*t about signing new players, when we did exactly the same thing?! Or are you forgetting Caro, Clare and Nielsen?
You can't be mad at Wakefield for doing exactly what the current rules allow.
It remains to be seen if the rfl will move the signing deadline forward or not.

| Of the 13 that started we only had three who were not at the club at the start of the season. How many new players did the Bulls hove. He's right, you are an idiot!

On the plus side, it would probably of been us getting smashed each week if we'd gone up. Brian Smith is right, they're miles behind in trying to recruit quality players and we'd have been in the same boat.
I'd love to have gone up to chance our arm and give it a shot but the system has sone pretty major flaws that don't allow clubs to build gradually.

| The best team on the day won the game. well done wakey.
Silverwood had one of his better games, and seemed to go out of his way to help us.
On the day our players did not deliver. From the start the wakey players seemed to want the win more than we did.
Cant disagree about any of the decisions except one.
With a few minutes left on the clock; we get a penalty 10 out; we're 2 points behind and they're looking tired, so we decide to go for 2 points , eh! what on earth was that about; we get 5 chances to run at them from 10 metres out and possibly get a try - that's 4 points and would have put us in front for the first time in the whole game; but no, we decide to try and kick for a draw!! Bizarre.
Congrats to Wakey, you won it fair and square; and your fans out sung ours; and the majority were well behaved.
A few gobby old men near the pie van complained through every minute of the game that RL would cheat to get Bulls up to SL; well just proves how stupid you sounded when the final hooter went.
Cant see us doing much next season; and Lowes should hand is ticket in and go play at Carnegie; we need a coach who can motivate players EVERY game.
