One would assume that Elima is to be his replacement.

Elima + decent half/centre is better for the club than Menzies, however brilliant he is individually.

Seems a shame we have to lose Beaver and keep Hall - he owes us a big year next time round.

Agree with all of that, but we'll still miss Menzies imo.

Hall definitely needs to step up to the plate next year.

In terms of letting Beaver go to play against us for someone else, how gutting will that be, the comparisons with the massive blunder to absurdly let Morrison go are obvious.

My other pet hobby horse is my belief that Menzies will go on to be a real top coach, and I had been hoping against hope that he could start that journey at Odsal. Potter and Menzies sounds like some combination to me. Personally, I am gutted.

If I try to think this through dispassionately, I come to the conclusion that whilst nothing has been said, this can ONLY be to allow us to sign a top centre or halfback from Aus. Because nothing else makes sense to me, I really don't see how we could justify letting Menzies go far ANY other reason. And so that's what I'm putting my money on.

And I am glad we seem to be persisting with hall, as I and others have said many times, he owes us a big season, and he is capable of giving us a big season.

I agree with all that, and if the quota apot is not used on a real top quality player, I will be really disappointed with Potter.

As for Steve being a coach, i'd hoped that too, maybe one day he'll return to us as head coach!!
