| if there is anyone that can keep you on the right path it has to be nobby, its funny how he turned down Cas for more money but shows his alliance and love for Bradford.

| Quote slideby="slideby"noble was not asked on monday, he was asked on thursday'"
He wasn't asked on Thursday, you muppet, and I make no apologies at all for calling you a muppet, since that is what you are because:
a) you are calling Noble a liar; and
b) he can't have been asked before Monday, since it was not until Monday that Potter refused to work for no pay.
Anyway, he was on a tour of Aus and Fiji last Thursday, and as Guilfoyle can't even operate a voicemail, international calls would clearly be beyond him.
Or maybe the administrator's team includes Mystic Meg, and they thus knew what Potter would say, before they had asked him? If so, then why did they need to ask Noble?

| The impression Mick gave is that it was hinted that Nobby was willing to step into the breech if he refused to work free gratis, Consequently Mick was right in damming Nobby (saying it was "an ordinary thing to do" which in Aus speak is a version of beyond the pale)
Nobby was brought up from a troubled youth by Trevor Foster and therefore has enornmous respect for him and would not sully his Name or the Bulls.
So Nobby is between a rock and hard place when deciding to help with the Coaching, I hope he does and that he publically dams Guilfoyle for being so bloody Machiavellian in this affair

| I am not in the know or know any one on the inside of the club, this is purely my opinion based on certain facts.
If MP was going to work for no pay he'd be still at the club. However if he refused wouldn't it be better to have somebody else lined up? If you wish tapping someone up.
The players meeting was cancelled yesterday the day after the ex-coach is potted by the administrator. Why would he cancel that? IMO either for a potential buyer or a head coach, if it is for a hair appointment or anything else as trivial he needs his balls used as trampoline.
If none of this has happened then the administrator is ensuring the club does not exist.

| I feel that the club would have known that Nobby would step in and help. He's got some time on his hands to do it, and I am sure that Bradford is one club he feels that he is obliged to help because of his roots and his past success.
Whether this manifested itself before MOnday is debatable. But one things for sure, if we want an honest, hardworking coach whose heart is at Bradford and has a proven record of success, and the respect of many people within the game, then there are few to rival Brian. And if he's going to come in for free, Wonderful!
I have always found Nobby to seldom be afraid of expressing himself honestly, and with integrity. If he had been approached prior to MOnday, he would have said. Remember, Nobby and Mick go back quite a long way. there's plenty of respect and friendship. The whole Franny thing is understandable too! If he's coming in with a game at the weekend, he needs somebody who knows the players very well to help him. Can see why he did that.
None of us like the way that the staff were delat with on Monday. Not one bit! But look forward. Withy Nobby and Tasker working without pay in the short term, we could be a lot worse off!

Has anyone asked the players to play for nothing yet. That should ease finance a little?

| Cassandra, As soon as a club does that, it makes their contracts null and void. Thats the last thing the club will want to do as the players are the only assets the club has! They can seek to defer payment, but with cashflow being the problem, the players are likely to see that as not being paidf and thus they are free to go!

you dont need to offer an apology, you are simply wrong. he was asked if he would take over for free last THURSDAY which allowed the decisions to be made with potter etc when he indicated he would. That doesnt mean he was offered the role then.
and whos the muppet, when your stating he cant of been??? do you really think that you cant line up a replacement until you have 100% confirmation that the potter has turned it down.
They never thought for a second potter would agree and thats why nobby was approached. the fact that they were firing mp, his coaching staff, his wife and all the back office staff, all when it is clear it hasnt been done in the most proffessional way was a good reason why he was likely to decline.
nobby isnt too happy with how its been handled although he is likely to accept the role now and could be announced today.

| In the paper Nobby is quoted as saying it might be too tough a gig. Come on Nobby you have never shirked a challenge in your life! You mention a negative reaction being made. At the meeting on Monday there was just one numptie who mouthed off against the suggestion you might be involved in a coaching capacity, at least short term and he was very quickly shouted down. Any reaction is not against you coming in at all, rather it was the way Mick Potter was shown the door.
As a proud Bradfordian with red and amber and black coursing through your veins, now is the time Nobby. Come on back to Odsal, we need you Sunday.

| the fact Nobby may have theoretically been sounded out to work for nowt before Monday and in principle may have agreed to help out if all else failed may have accelerated the decision to make the wholesale cull of the coaching staff

Why can't the players give the wages as a donation?
