Excellent news. However it's the RFL so the date for the appeal will be set of the end of October...

Considering that the success of the appeal is likely to be dependant on how much is paid back to the creditors, are we effectively "buying" points back? I wonder if the RFL will put a specific price on the points? For example, pay 200k to creditors and get 2 points back. It would be interesting to know how much Marc Green would be willing to/could afford to pay if this was the case. How much do people feel 2 points are worth?

A years sky money split over 2 years,shared between the other clubs,nothing to creditors.That should get us a couple of points back

[iThe RFL can confirm that Bradford Bulls have submitted an appeal against the points deduction handed down by the RFL Board of Directors as a penalty for entering into administration in January 2014.

The appeal has been lodged on the grounds that the insolvency event arose solely as a result of force majeure, in that the club’s administration occurred in circumstances that were unforeseeable and unavoidable.

The appeal will be heard by a specially convened independent Sporting Sanctions Appeal Panel chaired by a qualified solicitor or barrister. The panel will also feature at least two other members, one of whom must be a fully qualified insolvency practitioner.

The panel has the discretionary power to instruct an independent firm of accountants or alternative expert to provide evidence to assist them in deciding whether or not the insolvency event arose as a result of force majeure.

The RFL Board will be bound by the decision of the panel, which can do one of the following:

Confirm the deduction of six points;

or
Set aside the deduction of six points and substitute a deduction of fewer points

; or
Order that there shall be no deduction at all.







The Sporting Sanctions Appeal Panel will hear Bradford’s appeal as soon as possible, with details of the time and date to be confirmed in due course[/i

Im expecting nothing, but hoping for 2 points back, anything more would be a welcome surprise.

2 back would be absolutely fantastic and the best we could hope for. Wouldn't be enough to save us IMO but give us a crack at it.

2 back would be great, coupled with a shock win somewhere on this horrific run of games it could act as a catalist. Does anyone know how long before we can bring in any overseas signings? A quick line breaking halfback from down under would further boost our slim survival chances.

Don't expect any points back. Whatever happens, with it being completely independent no one can start moaning RFL favouritism, RFL are against us, RFL are corrupt etc

Ignoring the rights & wrongs, I can't see how they will give points back if they expect you to be in the relegation mix. If the 2, 4 or 6 they give you back was the difference between staying up & relegation....I can hear the boos & cries of cheat from Belle Vue (sic) already.

I wonder if it will be completely independent or I wonder if the usual gentlemen from the RFL will be in disguise.Could be a rather large guy listening to the appeal wearing a Elton John type wig to conceal his identity but crumbs from a Gregg's steak bake on his chins could blow his cover
