Yep, based on that wording, I'd agree with that. It's the "working towards" bit that suggests he does count as Home Grown.
They really don't like leaving things black and white at Red Hall do they?

Nope, my only worry would be if he can't get 3 full seasons in before he's ineligible for the 21's, and therefore can't ever be club trained, can he still be working towards it before hand??? It might depend on when he becomes ineligible for the under 21's....like I say, confusing, and I give up.  |

Common sense would say if your contract runs for 3 years or more, then you're working towards it (as seeing out that contract would qualify). If your contract is shorter than that, you're not working towards it until you sign a contract that would cover the 3 year period.
But we all know that common sense doesn't necessarily play a part!

thanks for feedback about players Id missed (ive been busy - new baby and all that!)
Squad list amended again and should be ok for now, will add Briggs when lenght of contact, etc. is confirmed.
If anyone can link me to anything (press release or new signing/release info) about players out of contract in 2010 who are still on list would they mind?

I'm not sure that's right. After all, it's the club paying the wages. I would think it's the club's option to extend the deal rather than the player demanding a further year. |
