I'm hoping his position is filled with a similar calibre of signing as Welham (vast super league experience, still in their prime, wanted by super league teams). A Godinet, Wood or dare I say it Chase would see me very optimistic for the comimg season.'"
FWIW, Robbie, in an interview in today's T&A, says he doesn't think Jimmy is interested in Godinet. Course, he could be just trying to push the price down....

| Can't help but feel slightly disappointed about Ulugia going. He had a bit of a shaky start but I still think he deserved more of a shot in the side than he actually got.
Ah well, Batley's gain is our loss I suppose.

Prop wise last season we had Karl Davies who didn't even play a match and Samir Tahraoui who looked promising but was unproven at the highest level and clearly had some aspects of his game Jimmy didn't like. Walker has played at the highest level, is a Bradford lad and has looked a handful everytime I've seen him. Clark also looked very good on the occasions I saw him play, has links to the club and again both are British so no quota spot.
'"
Clark takes a non fed trained quota spot though.
With Ulugia gone we have both a overseas and a non fed trained spot available so could be we're looking down under for a scrum half which gives us a lot more options

Yep. We had a to build a large squad very quickly last year and inevitably didn't use some of our overseas/non-fed spots in the best way. Lets hope we don't look to Mackay Cutters for a new half back (or any other player for that matter).
Did Siejka take up a non-fed spot as well?

That one is squashed then!'"
It was only a few weeks ago they were saying that Kirk Welham wasn't on the radar - now we are told that Ferres and Lowes were chasing him for ages!
I wouldn't place too much stock on these 'rumours' in the T&A

| Cheers for that, I always lose track of who counts under which quota. It'll be interesting to see how the squad finishes up.

| Can't see Etu getting much game time in the current squad. Suspect he's one they'd like to move on if possible.

I did say that he and Ulugia were the players most likely to be moved on. In fact, I think all players who went on loan last year have moved on to new clubs apart from Etu. Given the depth we've got in the wings and centres, I have to agree that I don't see him getting much game time unless there's a large injury crisis.

| Pita Godinet has connections with a lot of Bradford Kiwis - Lesley Vainikolo, Shontayne Hape, Robbie and Henry Paul. All of them except Volcano played for Te Atatu Roosters here in NZ and put in a good word about Bradford but nothing is finalised yet so Bradford are keeping it quiet. The T&A didn't quote Bradford, they just made an assumption because Bradford are keeping tight lipped about it.

| I've heard Leeds are sniffing round Adam O Brien and the Bulls have told them how much they want.
I have no idea what that amount is or if Leeds are willing to pay it
