Not sure whether he is an overseas quota or not. If he has a french passport does that count as overseas? As with Kearney i still think he should play at Stand off. He needs to see the ball more otherwise he doesnt seem to get into the game and i think that is a waste of a good talent!

No he would still be classed as non federation trained.

What passport he holds and what international team he plays for isn't relevant. It's where he was trained. The clue is in the wording of "Federation TRAINED"

not too sure about this one. if he qualifies to play france and french players are now classified as uk fed trained then I nguess he comes into same exemption bracket as nero,richards etc. could do with a clarification from rfl as its a bit of a grey area. would be a useful signing if we could get him under quota as he covers fullback, and 5/8th all to a decent standard. rumour I heard had him going to french RU though.

To be classed as federation trained he had to by February 2008. At that time he was still overseas trained as he had not qualified for France yet.

thats a fair point. Is it written down in rules that he had to qualify for france before feb 2008 cutoff? or is that just your understanding of the rule?. Not that im doubting you RER just want to know why you think rule works that way.
