I know the post was probably slightly tongue in cheek, but the timing of that worries me that it may not be far off the mark.
It's often the case that a club announces someone is leaving, when they know that someone else is due to announce their appointment/signing within a day or two. (Same as why Huddersfield announced Brett Hodgson was leaving, shortly before Warrington announced they'd signed him).
I'll wait with anticipation for the announcement from the Bulls now.

Indeed, but if the new coach really isn't Potter or McDermott then the club has really done one hell of a job keeping it under wraps (I know this has been said before, but I thought it deserved saying again in the circumstances).
Still, shouldn't be too long to wait now before we find out.

cummins specifically says he doesnt have a post to go to, so if we announced him a day or two later his credibility is blown out of water straight away. One thing that has occured to me is that combine this with mcdermotts non appearance at quins press conference on friday and it may be case that mcdermott is leaving quins (either to us or elsewhere) and cummins is being lined up as his replacement.
Other possibility that springs to mind is that mcdermott is coming to us and bringing one of cummins/poching as his assistant. Worked together before so maybe a possibility.
Wish board would just get their finger out and make the announcement now.

mal meninga
if simmons is going to saints then i doubt we will be getting steve folkes ( as much as it would be a good appointment ) because i dont think wests tigers can afford to loose 2 backroom staff with another planning to leave to another nrl club

As I have said before, anyone who has every been party to negotiations, especially delicate ones, will understand why the Board can make an announcement only when they are in a position to. Its unlikely to be anything to do with "getting their fingers out", no matter how impatient you and others might be!

The only thing that tempers my thoughts of McDermott (or cummins for that matter) is FA's commment;
Quote: mat "Indeed, and so far as I can recall, the new coach's name hasn't been mentioned on here'"
I have no reason to doubt that FA does indeed have some info most of us do not, and if this is true then its not McDermott...(or Noble, Potter, Millward, Sharpe, McRae, Cullen, Silsdenbull, St Hilarie, Betts for that matter).... interesting. We've waited long enough, a few more days won't hurt, as the club needs to be sure on this one.

| Prepare yourself for the worst then it won't seem too bad when we hear who the new bloke is.

I think it's more likely it is Potter and FA was being sarcastic, as it's been mentioned on here absolutely loads in the last week

That translates as the new bloke could be almost but not quite the worst the fans perceive we could get.
On that basis, I bloody well hope you don't have an inside track on this...

In reality would the board now risk an appointment that would no ability to improve the 2011 contracted players, along with no PR value or substance?
Place your bets here...
