If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |
|
| Scored a good try today and last week and with his pace chased down and snuffed out the one break that Oldham made.
He's lost on the wing though, as Minns is taking on the line, making the breaks and ignoring Moss. Definitely a keeper. Hope he gets an opportunity at FB soon.

| TBF I thInk Beattie and Toovey know more about coaching than 99%on here so I will go with their thinking. They also manage situation from the bench so again have a better feel for how it is going than spectators

| Great result against a team most are tipping for top 4. Lost concentration a bit 2nd half but dud enough to get win. Onwards and upwards.

| Interesting about our right hand side in defence & attack, must agree probably not good enough. Now right hand side
Oakes, Ryan and Bentley top class today, think we will have trouble holding on to them (Hudds.) at end of this year.
Great effort today, all 16 far better than last years dross of Ferguson, Lauki, Olbison etc. Now all we have to hope is that Scott Moore gets a favourable verdict.

| Bentley, Oakes and Ryan are all class. Let's just enjoy them while they're still here.

My thoughts too.
I would have liked to see Smith come on; or the bench slot given to a forward instead, but if 2V/Beattie run a different ship and we get a win then that's fine by me. I dont care if they have 4 cheerleaders on the bench if we get a win.

I think the waste of money sentiment is one of "signing a player and not then playing them is a waste of money". Given the bloated squads of the last two years, I think we can all agree that we don't want to get back into player stockpilling

| Let's not kid ourselves here. For all the good play from some players at the moment, Scott Moore is the difference. The quality and speed around the PTB that he's bringing is what's made the difference and picked us up 4 points. As much as we all like Joe Lumb and Sam Hallas did a half decent job too, they're not even close to Moore's quality. Our chances this season may well very rest on his court case.

Can't be sure if he gets a favourable judgement that we won't see SL clubs coming in for him.

| Moore has made a huge difference, whether it’s his experience (making the right decisions at the right time) or just making the central defence more solid. When he gathered up that kick off under the noses of the Toulouse defenders I thought that typified what he brings to the team. If we lose him (and it’s highly probable) then I hope we’re looking at bringing in some more experience.
Thought Leon had his best game since he came back. There were some really classy touches, the pass to Oakes for his try especially.
Again, Ryan was superb on the wing, his try was excellent and took a lot of scoring but he’s making a habit of those. The defence was awesome and saved two certain tries.
I thought the forwards did well particularly in the first half. I think we tired a little in the second and this led to more mistakes and indiscipline. That said the second Ryan try that was chalked off looked 100% fine to me. It was a bit of a twitch finish but we got there in the end. Minus 8 now and that’s better than I thought we’d be at this stage.

The Sheffield match was in some of the worst conditions for a good number of years. The Wakey pitch also had a game instantly before that. Plus Sheffield had dual-reg players, Jamie Acton, Lachlan Burr & Sam Hopkins.
Toulouse showed some quality touches yesterday and i think they will pick up a fair few away wins as well and be in the top 4 IMHO. Especially when the grounds harden up.

To be fair, although we didn't use one of the subs, I suspect we did use all 12 interchanges in the forwards. It would have made more sense to have an extra forward though.

It would have done, except he was no doubt there in case of an injury in the backs or halves. No injury happened, so they didn't use him just for the sake of it.
Whilst I tend to agree with the idea of don't use a sub just because he's there, when the interchange could be better used to make sure the forwards don't get tired, I did think Smith could have been brought on in the backs on the right side considering we were starting to get hammered there in the second half. Thankfully it ended up not mattering.
