| I [iwant[/i to believe that we've judged Lamb unfairly.
If I remember right, he had a consortium lined up last time, but had to produce proof of funds very quickly, over a weekend, when the investor was out of the country. Something like that? So his interest ended there.
This time, IF we take any account of what Mick says, he got sidelined by Pettit early on in the process. BUT he is the one left standing at the end, whereas the so-called big money people have disappeared into the mist.
His interview on BCB was pretty decent, and he talked a lot of sense. If Irvine and others that he hinted at bring in some money and other expertise, then why not?
Right now, he might be the only hope, so let's try and be positive about him.

| If Lamb had some financial backing then I'm onboard. If they are wanting the fans to cough up to fund it then I'm out.

Mick played an interview with Chalmers in the news buliten where he signaled his interest to try and go through the RFL bidding process. I wonder if there's anything in getting these to all form one big strong consortium?

| To me the greatest sadness will be the disappearance of the Academy. I have heard nothing to suggest it will be part of the future plans of any new owner.
The work of John Bastian and all his team has been a joy to behold. In the past couple of years they have worked so hard attracting youngsters coveted by other clubs. I know that John and Leigh had high hopes for the coming season and beyond. All that work and development , all the hopes , wasted.
Working with the Foundation they were providing a great start in education and citizenship not just for those who would make it in the professional game. So that will be a big loss to the community.
So in answer to Bullseye's opening question I fear that whatever new entity emerges in whatever division ,there will be no meaningful youth structure. Those are the ashes which we will not contain any Phoenix .

| The problem with Lamb is he seems to have offered the safer option each time but has been overlooked. TBF He isn't saying anything that Green didn't say 2 or 3 yrs back

Wasn't it chamlers who, according to the RFL, offered an exciting future if his bid came off? I'm assuming that his bid involved redeveloping Odsal. If that's the case then you'd also have to assume that he's already got the financial backing?
A lot of assumptions I know.

| Before it is engulfed by more pressing news, here are the answers to last week's Bradford Bulls Great Cluedo Challange
1. Mr Green in the Boardroom with the Cashbox
2. Mrs Tea in the Kitchen with the Trolley
3. Mr P. Tit in the Back with the Liquidiser.

I know he was involved with Graham Lowe and had asked Robbie to be part of the bid to help convince the fans. No further information as to how far they actually got to getting ownership of the club.

| It has been a bad day but all is not lost yet.
It was a good interview with Lamb and Irvine does have experience. I wouldn't be surprised if all of the other bidders give the RFL a call tomorrow now that all liabilities - known and unknown are gone. Taking bits from different sources these liabilities seem to have scared people off from signing on the dotted line. They can now get whet they want without any baggage. I wonder if the RFL had this in their mind all along as they were very quick to put the new plans into the public domain. They must have been thinking about this result today.
It would be massive if Rohan stayed and talked the youth coaches to stay. If the youth coaches stayed they "might" be able to persuade the young lads to give us a season and see how things went. What a bonus that would be. I would be telling the youngsters that they can play a big part in the re-building of the new Bradford over the next 2-3 years. Really push them into thinking it is a great opportunity to be in there at the beginning and they WILL get a chance here rather than sat in the stand at other clubs.
It needs a "The club needs you!" type of speech from their coach.
Senior players I am not too concerned about if we can keep half of the squad.
I do believe other clubs especially SL would help with loans. RL is a tight knit community.
We may need to start with a small squad of say 25 + youngsters. We can soon pick up a dozen players in my view. The key would be to get through that first season and bring back some faith in the club and more importantly, the owners.
We are due a good one soon just by law of averages.
This week is again a massive few days ahead.

They must have some money to offer to uphold season tickets. He could have easily said they can buy again at say 30% - but didn't.

| I wonder if now that Green and Pettit have been taken out of the equation, we might some others from the supposed 'up to a dozen expressions of interest' coming back into the picture?
Will the Leo Group, now that they don't have to settle all the debts, now try to acquire us and build something at Odsal.
Or Gareth Roberts / Bradford Park Avenue?
Could we even see Chris Caisley show interest?
Just speculating really... but it's all completely open to ANY bidders to come forward now (I think?)
