| Thoughts on it?
I think it looks alright. Obvs helps with the colours being in the right order, some people get a bee in their bonnet about that.
The idea that it was "inspired" by the 1978 Premiership winning kit is stretching it a bit but I think it's good that we're acknowledging history.
That "inspired by" tagline is commonly used in advertising nowadays and doesn't really mean anything. Dave Gorman did a really funny expose of how ridiculous it can get when he showed how Gillette have brought out some new razors inspired by Star Wars using a picture of a storm troopers helmet!

It really does scream of trying to find an extra selling point. Don't know if anyone has a photo of the 1978 shirt, but the only real resemblance is the presence of a "V" shape. I don't think it's even the same size and angle.
Good to acknowledge, but I feel if they really wanted to mimic that shirt, they could have at least made the V and colours identical, then plaster all the sponsors over it. Sounds like they are economical with the truth to me, you know, for a change.

| It's just using a common advertising ploy. "Inspired by". Means nothing at all. Doesn't bother me. The 1978 kit was just the traditional hooped kit so no V at all.
They do have the correct colours in the correct order in common but that's it so you could say it was "inspired by" half a dozen kits.
TBH I don't mind it. There's no Provident logo to put me off buying it either.

I didn't even realise the 78 kit wasn't a V. That makes the line even more throwaway as you say.
I suppose we should be impressed they're using modern advertising ploys instead of the last few years' "Give us your money or you won't have a club" marketing.

Still being used by some fans on Facebook groups to anyone who doesn't universally love everything the club does.
But on the kit IMO it's better than a few we've had. My least favourite being the 2000 Skylark kit. All white with a tiny bit showing the red, amber and black in the wrong order. I remember kicking off about it at the time and Stuart Duffy taking the out of me at a club event. As a Leeds fan I wouldn't expect him to know any better.

Yeah, the 60s and 70s kit was hoops, and slightly wider coloured hoops than the new one, imo. The special, so called "cetenary' one, brought out in 2007 was actually a closer match and I'm definitely not kncking the new shirt 'cos I think it's OK, but it is very like a much more recent chevron version from a few years back.
Incidentally, I know I'm guilty of using expresions like 'recently' when it turns out to be from some time in the sixties, but I really do think this one was pretty recent.

No, silly billy. But they do have to take turns to wash it after matches.

Ha, does that mean Leigh Beattie isn't kit man, groundsman, under 19s coach and first team assistant anymore

I indeed have a picture, and you are so soooooooooooooooooooo right, the stripes are 3 microns too small and the angle is 2.5 degrees out. And, given the professional era and the increase in chest size since that shirt, the stripes on this imposter are far too long and should be aprox 2.23959 cms shorter each side. What you have not noticed with your wild wild inspirational imagination is that the colour should be Pantone 1295-663N which is a creamier colour than the rather synthetic white. But, despite that lack of attention to detail, well done HC, another economical with the grey matter contribution that leads to points from the pitch.
or to put it another way, when did " inspired by" mean "mimic"?
Or to put it another way, the first paragraph is a mimic of you, the second my inspiration.

Plus you might have to walk the pitch looking for doggy doo's before kick off. It all comes flooding back.

| Queing into carpark for pre-order collections and shirt/ticket sales. Shirts available in shop but their still bagging up pre-orders in back so not sure if they've put aside enough stock to cover pre-orders or not. Probably best to go sooner rather than later to collect pre-orders. seemed to be selling a lot of tickets for friendlies too.
