| Well played. Can't argue with a performance like that.

| Quote: RTB "why?
as far as I can tell this thread is for post match discussion, my post match discussion happens to focus on the bigger picture. we played well, Huddersfield didn't - we won - we still won't make the play offs.
I hardly think we should be having street parties just yet.'"
Give it a break.
Overall we've had a pretty crap year. I don't see why people shouldn't be able to enjoy what was a very enjoyable performance today though. It doesn't make everything ok but your sniping should be left for another thread or another day IMO.

| yeah it was a good performance, I'm not saying it wasn't, I'll certainly enjoy the bragging rights aswell,
but as ME said earlier, a few years ago a result like this was run of the mill - now it's as if we've just won the cup.
we're still 10th in the table.

| I know people are entitled to their opinions and such, but I cannot believe there is such negativity from some people after a performance like that today.
And when you say still 10th - we were 11th before - progress

| Only one so far has come up with the guff that Hudds did not play well. It was nothing at all to do with how they played. They played as well as we allowed them to, and for once we were almost faultless in every department of the game, for the full 80. And that is why we murdered them.
One particularly impressive aspecy was the tackling. There were great tackles going in in every set, many gang tackles, and many where we constantly won the collision. I kept waiting formthe bubble to burst, and for Hudds to score and get back in it, but today's Bulls were simply not having it. On the rare occasions we did cough up the ball, or gave away penalties, they seemed to even step up another gear and harass and force errors to get the ball back.
The pack was, to a man, immense. Apart from one good bullocking run from Crabtree when he'd come back from the sinbin, the forwards dominated in pretty much every tackle and every collision.
And to put the icing on the cake, the last-20 minutes collapse never came. Indeed there was no sign of it.
Was like the old days. Today's team - take a well-deserved bow.
Oh, and in response to RTB - never in a million years was this ever a "run of the mill" performance. That is, with respect, bullcrap. This was a game against a very good team, flirting with the top of the table, and the point is not so much the victory, but the comprehensive manner of it. On defence, on attack, we were excellent in all aspects of the game. Only those who didn't see it could call it "run of the mill". It was a real top drawer performance, and would have been a real top drawer performance in any era. Rarely does a team dominate a good side like that.

Exactly. He is being used in just the right way. When he comes on for his stint he is really aggressive and provides a big lift, but today, against some big forwards in a top-4 side, he was unstoppable. He looks a scarily good prospect, the second best Burgess already by some way.

| Quote: RTB "well that should paper over the cracks for a few more weeks.
good result and all but thats all a result like today is serving to do. too little too late for me, 2 of our next 3 are away at Wire and Wigan - the play offs are a distant hope at best.
credit to the boys today, good performance, must have been a horrendous off day for Huddersfield - but why didn't they do this earlier and more consistently?
i can still count on one hand the games we've turned up in this season and really had a go.'"
Some might read that post and suggest you must be a right miserable sod (albeit not alone). For my part, I will let others make their own judgment, and just observe that I find it so much more satisfying catching people doing things right (as we did 1-17 today) than catching people doing things wrong.
Oh, and did you see the game today? It is a huge insult to the Bulls team to suggest that the result was down to a "horrendous off day for Huddersfield". That, sir, IMO is bollox.

| We were awesome. Smashed a quality side, put it all together for the 80 and it bodes so well for the future. Saw Sykes at the end and told him he was mine and my Brothers MOM. The evil James Donaldson gave him a huge hug, an all round feel-good day. Here's to more of them in future times. Tom Burgess looks the biz as well. But lets just say they were all good today, and whine over who needs to go for next year on another time eh?
First journey back up to the North East with huge smiles for the first time in long time. Howay the Bulls!!

| Wow..just wow
We've been waiting for a performance...sorry no we've deserved a performance like that for years, I actually put my beers down to clap them off.
One swallow doesn't make a summer but it shows what we're capable of!

| Fantastic performance from start to finish. Where did that come from? Amazing defence with not a backwards step. Huddersfield looked poor but I think they were rattled, they did not expect that and it showed.
Too little, too late? Maybe? But at least it gives us something to cheer and we are going down fighting. Great stuff.

| That was the best performance I can remember us putting in for....well I can't remember the last time we played so well. As someone has said earlier we were ultra aggressive in the tackle. Our forwards were amazing. Scruton has his best game since he was injured, Donaldson looked the part, Hargreaves had his best game but Whitehead (where did that short kicking game come from?), and Elima were amazing. As for Burgess, he is just a monster and teams can't deal with him. The half backs capitalised on this supremacy and the backs linked up well. Sykes was great.
I can understand why some people are saying Huddersfield were shocking but they were made to look shocking by such aggressive tackling and confident play with the ball in hand. A great day to be a Bulls fan, we've had some rough days but I've got a smile on my face today.

| Steve Macnamara was at the game today, stood at the top of the terraces near the family stand. Wonder who he was there to look at.
Whitehead, Sykes, Scruton, etc will have given him something to think about when he is picking his next England squad.

| Look what the team is capable of when the pack gets on top?
Best team performance for some considerable time. Too late it may prove to be, one swallow if may yet be, but is shows this team CAN be far better than the league position suggests. That they DO have it in them. At last, some grounds for optimism.
Hard to fault any of them today. And the much-maligned Sykes was probably MOM for me. Whatever was said or happened during the week sure worked. It is a long time since we totally outplayed a team the way we did today. Totally unrecognisable from what we have seen so much of this season. Brilliant effort, Brilliant performance.
