| Didn reardon just shoulder barge mguire into the stands as opposed to tackling him or am i thinking of someone else. Anyways back to the jeffries/menzies debte, if jeffo backed himself for pace why not kick ahead? i am pretty sure there was only them two nd then a straight footrace. Stand to be corrected though

correct, flattened the lad.

that would have involved a brain it would seem. although in the heat of the moment, it's hard to think quickly like that and when he saw menzies coming he did seem to slow slightly before having a go down the wing.

| I'd probably take Pryce over Ah Van as that quota spots are very valuable and I don't think Ah Van offers that much more than KP. I'm not Pryce's biggest fan, but its obvious the lad can score tries, we just need him to keep his effort levels up.
Gale - No thanks. Pish poor defence, and I've never been all that impressed with him.

No. Wether Briggs was first reciever or not IMO Jeffries is better suited to a Scrum Half role when the ball is in play. Just my opinion...

Perhaps we ought to sign him . . . . then put him out to Quins to get some game time and improve

You might be right here. In Jeffries first spell at the club he played better at scrum half but when he moved to stand off he appeared to be less effective due to the speed he got the ball. With Briggs at 1st receiver he seemed to be getting enough time to do a bit more with the ball

| Bulls need to go all out and get rangi chase before the rhinos do, would be as big a hit as when HP came.
Why do we continually look for a SH when we need a SO ? And none of this rubish " bust kearny can play there" bull kearny is a FB and we have been without a SO farrrrrrrrrrr too long !!!!

| Can't you?
How, precisely, would you propose we set about getting Chase?
How precisely would you find the funds to pay Cas for the remaining 2+ years of his contract?
How precisely would you persuade him to come here rather than to (say) Leeds (or the inevitable salary cap-less Wire) should you resolve the contract question? Should he even want to leave Cas?
The public needs to be told.

I believe Maguire didn't even see Reardon coming. I believe he was showing the dummy to someone then just got smashed. I am remember rightly he did have the option to throw to a support runner something BJ didn't ( though off an intercept that will pretty much always happen). Menzies offered him the outside and BJ took it. Part of me was glad he actually backed himself. A bigger part of me was calling him an idiot though.
Gale? No thanks.
K.Pryce? No thanks.

We need to sign a scrum half because we haven't got one. If you're saying we need to sign both SH and SO then I wouldn't disagree but alas Adey is probably right on Chase.

Steady on Mr Optimistic
Lets remember Cas have made a point recently about not having a large squad, so to help with this the bulls could offer a selection of players as compensation for the final 2 years of his contract.
If Chase also wanted to leave Cas (Not sure if this is the case), this would also be an intensive for them to do a deal.
I would be happy with the Bulls offering 3-4 fringe players as part of the deal (maybe Sykes, Briggs, Crossley and Crokes (just an example))
As for 'Why would he come to the Bulls' question - Money talks, plus the Bulls are a bigger team than Cas (recent form excluded) with a larger fan base and probably a club with larger potential.
Above is not a solution - just an idea of how a deal can be done - no doubt you will come back with another negative comment, the point I would try to make is, what's wrong with having ambition?? We have a good squad - we just need to bring in a bit of class!

| Whilst I think it's a long shot I was surprised when we signed the likes of Newlove and Fox under the noses of much bigger clubs back in the early 90s. Perhaps all we need is to bring Peter Fox back to sweet talk Rangi
