Quality impact prop (imo)
Sykes as extra cover ?'"
I'd be very surprised/dissapointed if we sign Reardon

Why?
Would provide good cover for our backline, along with Sykes who can cover in halves aswell.

Perhaps, if he's fit. But he had a very serious injury that takes some recovery.
Reardon's a decent fullback and wing cover and arguably less prone to brain farts than Platt (if Platt's off back to Salford) but if he's running on one leg then I'd rather keep Platt.

As Bullseye says his injury was pretty bad, it's all very well feeling 'loyal' to ex-Bulls players, but I'd be happier keeping Sykes as back up than signing someone (potentially better) who hasn't played for quite some time.

| If Sykes is first choice centre and covering stand off/full back then we need to cover centre (Crookes) and wing anyhow. Assuming we are getting a specialist winger and Platt is going, Reardon has the ability and experience to act as that cover and wouldn't be able to command a high fee given his injury record.
That allows us to focus on the best quality we can find for both prop and winger areas I'd suggest we need more.

I think it would be either Sykes or Reardon we couldn't afford the luxury of both and of the two atm I'd prefer to keep Sykes.

As would I because he can cover halves aswell.
If we settle for Sykes at 3 for another season then we'll be $hite again.

whilst his injury was bad afaik it wasnt actually properly identified whilst he was at wire and it was treated as a lesser injury. It wasnt until the medical at hull that they realised it was actually detached and at that stage he had the correct surgery t correct the problem. Cant help wondering if wire were expecting him to get sent down for the assualt case and didnt want to spend the money/increase their insurance premiums getting him in for the surgery.
I wouldnt see reardon as a cover player anyway. If we got him then I'd expect him to start on one of the wings with the bonus that he could cover FB. with sykes 2 best positions of SO and FB covered cant see paul as anything more than a utility back with the last quota spot used to bring in a decent .
with regard to a forward have all the rumours about westwood gone quiet? eveyones assuming we'll go for a prop but thats position we originally bought hall to play. its only since sam and morro left that theres been talk of hall playing 2nd row. so stick with hall in the props and bring in a decent 2nd row ala westwood/LMS might be an option

I wonder where the usual suspects are at the moment? I would have thought that you would have been slaughtered by the three stoogies by now.

| Good news.
Sounds an exciting prospect. I'm already looking forward to seeing him in the RAB.
As for the injuries....let’s see how he goes first. Talk about focusing on the negative.
I don't read the article as Macca saying he's nailed on for 6 though. I think he's purposely left that open.

Bradford Bulls have today announced the signing of Cronulla Sharks Stand Off or Full Back Brett Kearney on a two year contract.
Kearney, 26, who will team up with the Bulls in November, is expected to fill the Stand Off berth at the Grattan Stadium. '"
I'd expect the 6 jersey will be his but may occasionally play at FB should the need arise. There's actually some reasonable flexibility in the backs with Kearney, Halley and Sykes

| todays interview with kearney in t&a, all he talks about is playing standoff so i'd say barring a major change in off season thats where hes playing. also from some off comments seems pretty certain we're stuck with deacon starting next year
