With the state he left us in, no chance.
I'm also on the 'sack McNamara' band wagon. Last night was the tipping point.

I think I would have Brian Noble back as head coach.

So come on, lets hear them. Im not aware of a queue of quality coaches beating a path to the door.'" Why would they be beating a path to the door. We have a coach still in place. f he goes you could be surprised by who's intrested. We can't carry on with the excuse we can't get rid of McNamara because their isn't anyone else.

Quite. Kear has 'proved' himself incompetent by message board standards on more than one occasion, and yet still seems capable of putting a decent side on the pitch as well.

| Without knowing all the circumstances involved in Noble's departure it's hard to say whether I'd take him back. He's hardly doing much at Wigan with more resources and a better balanced squad either.

| Quote: Bullseye "Whoever you bring in is still going to have to deal with the fact that our recruitment policy has been a c0ck up since McNamara came in. This means we have a side that lacks creativity and pace from 1-7.
We've played two games this season and still displayed many of our old bad habits. While I've stuck up for McNamara in the past I've gone from sitting on the fence to now wondering if a change would fix some of the fundamental faults that he seems unable to rectify.'" Nail on head it's the same faults that are plaguing us week in week out.

| With no risk of relegation then it doesn't make much sense to sack a coach at an early stage of the season, however he certainly shouldn't be in charge next year unless there is a major improvement, however the failings in his team are re-occurring and there is no evidence to suggest he or his coaching staff have the ability to rectify this.
A decision will have to be made before too long though, so the club can get the ball rolling in terms of idenitifying a replacement with recruitment for next season in mind.
While I think Wigan have overachieved with the squad they have by finishing in 3rd in the last two seasons I don't think Noble should be considered for a return, Superleague has evolved and I'm not sure his coaching style has.

I was talking about his youth development in the latter stage of his spell at the Bulls, and now with his spell at Wigan.

| If we lose next week to Wigan I'm going to be joining the McNamara out thread, no wins out of 3 relatively (should have been) easy games just isn't acceptable. When will the club realise that until we sign some decent backs we are going to continue to fail to score tries, therefore we aren't going to win games! McNamara out if we lose to Wigan.

There was no resource for youth development, we also had a chairman who thought success could be maintained by concentrating spending on the first team.
There's no doubting that Noble prefers players he can trust and isn't one to throw too many youngsters in however a youth development structure takes time to build, and from what I've seen the ones at Wigan aren't as good as they are made out to be when they are not playing. See all the other potential Wigan greats over the last few years who their coaches of the time have been slated for not using - it isn't like many of them have gone on to great things after leaving, they were all much of a muchness too.

The only time McNamara can be said to have put a good side out on the pitch at Bradford is when the side was someone elses.
