In all these rumours of players coming in has anyone heard of any halfbacks that have been linked with us? We surely can't be going into 2011 with only Orford and Southernwood can we?

As Peter Hood said. They know he's not a halfback, we know he's not a halfback, Paul Sykes knows he's not a halfback!

Hopefully that will mean he'll only play there in emergencies.

But McNamara was happy to play him and Kearney at No6 despite neither of them being stand offs.

I just worry about us being in the same boat next year. And if something happens to Orford we're back up poop creek.

Except Southernwood will be a year older and will hopefully have learnt our complicated defensive routines by then.

Maybe Worrincy will have as well.

At least I wasn't the only one to snort when Medders said Southernwood had to learn our defensive systems.

He did say it was entirely different to Wakeys. The poor lad needs time to move from one hopelessly ineffective defensive structure to our equivelent. Wakey focus mainly on grasping thin air and tripping over your own feet, whereas we try to aim for being out of position and too tired.

I should think that before new season training starts, the best starting point would not be to learn them, but for everyone to totally obliterate them from their memory, with drugs if necessary.

Isn't that what they have being doing anyway? But before the game in most cases...
