| I would be looking to use Beaver as an advisor on this. His influence has been huge in our player recruitment and should be on the coaching appointment.
he is rightly considered a legend in Australia and he is a big draw when recruiting from Oz.
one thing we should learn from looking at our history in the SL era is that a forward thinking coach can make a difference, and his methods can be developed and improved long after he has gone. it is hard to believe that Brian Smith was only in this country as our coach for 12 months! his influence has been directly felt here for 14 years. we need to refresh and do the same again. build another dynasty. whether Anderson (part of the Brown revolution) or Brian MAc ( one of the Smith disciples) can do this YET is a big question.

| Who will be the first one spotted at the stadium I wonder? I know that the club have already received applications for the post and I'm sure they'll be keen to start interviewing soon.
Cue a series of "I saw Hood talking to xxxx in McDonalds" and "I saw xxxx's car in the Odsal carpark" and "xxxx is looking for a house in Bradford" type posts.

Until the candidates find out the constraints within which they'll have to work!!
(P.S. I do wish people would stop intimating that Brown was an assistant coach in the NRL, he was HEAD COACH of the Dragons from 2003 until the end of 2008 - hardly a rookie when he went to Huddersfield!!)

An inconvenient truth for the Tendency formally known also as the Sacca da Macca Brigade.

| On that list the only decent option apart from Bellamy is McDermott. With him I'd expect pretty much the same as you've seen from McNamara, with perhaps more emphasis on a forward oriented & defensive gameplan. McRae could be alright, it has been a while since he's been able to work with the calibre of players available at Bradford.
Menzies might be worth a punt, but surely he would be best taken on as an assistant?
John Sharp could be a contender, why is he not in the poll? Underrated as a coach but hardly inspiring either.
I'd steer well clear of Lowes. If the full cap money is not there you may as well give up on Cullen & Millward as well.

think most people are getting nathan brown and michael maguire mixed up. nathan brown was head coach like you said whereas michael maguire was an assistant. think its browns been described as an ex assistant in some of press 2 which is just lazy journalism.( bit like all match reports saying jake websters high shot was on menzies - strange as steve was sat on bench at time of incident )

Nah... after coaching a side in a lesser competition he got the opportunity to be a real head coach in a tougher competition

| AFAIK Robbie has no interest in coaching once he's stopped playing. Plus I wouldn't want McRae as our coach.

you wish!
the only way he would ever come to you guys would be if the bulls could be tempted to infringe the salary cap enough to ensure that he could sign/retain world class players, whilst hiding their secret contracts in a secret safe!
we all know that you have had a little go at this "salary cap indiscression" thing in the past
so may'be he might fancy the job
