Quote: Adeybull "Oh dear Jonesy.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

I've had some extremely interesting chats this evening with all four of the Bulls senior management team (including the chairman and his fellow directors). I can't begin to tell you how interesting - so I won't.

What I WILL share with you is that I am totally satisfied that this club is now perfectly secure financially, and that the progress made in recent weeks has been little short of astounding. And there is plenty more for the future.

I now have a much clearer understanding about the RFL's intervention. And, funnily enough, it transpires the press release contained far less spin than most people deemed it to have. In shock breaking news, it would appear it was actually largely factual. Yes Jonesy, there IS a tip of the iceberg involved - but its rather the opposite of what you are assuming. I'm going to have some fun at your expense in years to come with that post! Oh yes. Just you watch me!

Precarious position? Not any more, my friend. Duke Peter of Hood has pulled off the mother of all coups here. It takes a lot to astound me these days; but astounded I sure am. I must be, since I had a fair number of witnesses to my astonishment. So much has gone wrong for us for so long, that we were long overdue for a break. Well, seems we sure got that.

But don't let me keep you Jonesy. I'm sure you have to get back to composing a bit more negative waknerage for us to endure. But you know what? I'm going to be able to laugh in your face now when I read it! Not all at once; no rush. I'm happy to be patient. I'd rather have it dawn on you slowly just how wrong you have been - nice and slowly will do just fine!

btw, regarding your salary cap point

How nice that the RFL and all its member clubs have made you financially secure, now are they going to do the same for any other club that comes with its begging bowl then like Oldham or Rochdale for example??
Methinks not so why should they have bailed you out in such a huge way then?
Its your problem and yer the RFL should try help but only partly as its the club that should get this mess THEY have created sorted out.
Funny that Fat Controller = Nigel Wood hails from Bradford no 'vested interest' then fatboy???
Its amazing that there are clubs who cannot afford to run an U23 team at our level yet the RFL find the money to buy a dated and a bit run down now stadium.

This total waknerage from bitter Fax fans makes it feel just like the old days, eh?

Fax4life: jog on, son, you are becoming a total bore across the forums. I'm sure your therapist sees some potential in you, but I suggest your increasingly unpleasant and paranoid monologues are indicative of someone with some serious underlying problems?

Indeed.

I agreed not to spoil anything for the fans forum next week, since I was assured all reasonable questions on the subject (and others) would be answered there.

btw - for all those who complain that the club doesn't answer questions sent in: The Duffster told me tonight so far he had received a whole FOUR questions. So you know what to do?

While fully supporting the RFL, as I generally do, & totally enjoying the hysteria from the usual myopics, a question puzzles me which has probably been answered but I cannot be bothered reading 26 pages. If the RFL paid a reputed £1m for the lease (or a nice 6 figure sum) it must be earning or potentially earning a net income. If so, why has it been such a drain on Bulls resources rather than a nice investment necessitating the sale?

rlOdsal sale won't need to pay debtsrl

"“[iIt (profit from sale) will go into the working capital of the business. We are already committed to spending up to the salary cap so we won’t be buying any more players. Day to day, it will not make any difference to the running of the operation.”

Hood said the club’s debts were “manageable” and the club would have carried on as normal had the sale not materialised.[/i "

Hardly sounds like the rfl stepping in to "save us from the brink" "stop us imploding" "going into administration" or any of the other ill informed waffle spouted around rlfans in the last 48 hours. Unless people are willing to call hood a liar, I have no reason not to take this at face value and see it as the club using every available avenue to strenghten the clubs position. We obviously couldn't handle the Odsal situation in the long term by ourselves,
but then it is a bit of a unique money pit and looking to sell to remain and raise capital seems perfectly sensible to me in our position, and infinatly better than moving out to VP.

Been thinking my way through similar questions. Could be that its profitable to the RFL for reasons that don't apply to the Bulls.

If the RFL have paid out say 1 million dollars (pinky in mouth), its not exactly going to take them that long to make that back on rent and then start making a profit.

If they then hold games there it would increase their profit margin on the event as you'd assume they currently have to share some of it with the host club.

We don't know who is getting the franchise money for the food and beer, all or part could be going to the RFL as lease owners. Again would increase value to RFL of any events held there.

If they use the Coral stand as RFL HQ, as someone else suggested, then thats money saved from elsewhere.

Big question is are we still financially responsible for the upkeep costs, either directly or via the rent.

Anyway, off to email Duffy and double his list of questions! Until we know these kind of things whether its a good deal for us isn't clear either. If we are losing franchise money and/or still responsible for the upkeep then that reported 7 figure lump sum isn't going to take long to be offset by lost revenue and increased rent.

Of course its also been suggested that we needed the cash to cover an immediate problem which would make the long term maths irrelevant. So thats another question for Duffy then!

WTF has that added to the debate?

I could point out exactly what (who) people of Bradford shoot at but that would be exponentially OTT even for you.

Aww, bless! We are touched. No, really.

Mate, sorry, but we are already full of Rhinos fans who have genuine concerns for our welfare. If a vacancy arises, we'll let you know.

I'm pleased you "can wait" for the answers, though. Your beneficent indulgence has come as a relief to Hood, the board and the RFL, I can tell you. They have now been able to release the teams of experts who had been beavering away on your questions.
(But if you weren't the sort of guy who could wait, remind me just what your alternative was, again?)
